I don't think Buchele is a better QB than Ehlinger, I just think Buchele is playing in a better offensive system.

I don't think CDC is going to defer to a coach that he probably envisions firing a year from now. One of the sites had a report out this week saying that CDC ain't loyal to Herman like that.

Yeah. But I mean what does that say about you after your third year, you are needing to have this much turnover after your third year at the job? Would anybody hire any of these coaches? Likely not.

CDC had the OC under Patterson removed. It's probably not best that it comes to this, but it does happen in CFB.

CDC is his superior, what's going on is also a reflection of him. This is a historically bad defense that has us in danger of missing a bowl game a year after winning the Sugar Bowl. Herman should humble himself and accept whatever CDC decides without it causing a rift.

In other more positive longhorn related news,

I’ve been extremely impressed with Blake Gideon as an assistant coach. He coaches special teams and nickel backs at Houston and his guys have easily been the best and most consistent performers this season. Consistent kicking game, punter having best season in program history, blocked kicks, punts returned for 6, kicks returned for 6. Just a well coached unit. His nickel back is the most productive guy on defense despite not being the most talented.

I think Gideon is a young coach to keep an eye on in the future.
