Texas better be sure Herman will take the job before they fire Strong. If we fire Charlie and don't get Herman it will be a disaster.
Not really. I think a guy like Larry Fedora would kill it at Texas.

@-o3- @macpat @backinmyday @lightskin jermaine @dtownreppin214 If Coach Herman is hired, Jerrod Heard can move back to QB & Kai Locksely might as well stick around. Herman's offense is a better fit for both of them. I don't want to see Shane as our starting QB after this season if we have options.

shane b's physical limitations really shocked me the 2nd half of the season. i thought he was billed as being more of a mobile threat. that's definitely what Herman wants.

Yeah, Shane doesn't scare ANYBODY as a mobile threat. All of the recruiting sites listing him as a Dual-threat QB out of H.S. was a cyse. If Shane is gonna play as poorly as he did, we might as well have taken Jalen Hurts instead so defenses just can't key in on Forman.

i agree. shane is better than tyrone but i felt we should have used heard at qb more this year just to throw teams off.
:heh: Yo everybody forgot before Spring Football this year, that folks thought Shane would be a career Back-up ever since he committed to us in early 2015 to us because we already had Heard, Swoopes, & 2 QBs from the 2015 class on Campus + plus we knew we were gonna get Sam Ehlinger OR Shawn Robinson in the 2017 class.

:what: Bruh, the whole point of folks trying to push out Strong for the last year is because Boosters, some fans, & 1 media outlet (orangebloods.com) wanted Tom Herman. UT would look like a joke if they have to settle on Fedora.

Not to people who really know football. Fedora is very highly regarded in the coaching community.

nah i always knew he was going to come in and start, especially with the new coordinator. heard never had the work ethic for the position and swoopes is a lost cause. my question has always been if same would come in and take his spot next year. i've seen ehlinger in person, he's already bigger than shaneb and more athletic.

Yeah he's a hot name. As a Tar Heel fan I'm a little surprised at how high his profile is. I get that Clemson is Clemson and that's a machine too big for us right now but we should be able to navigate the rest of our conference schedule and get in the conference championship game regularly now. Blew that this year but with Mitch having a year under his belt we have no excuses next year.

But I've made my peace with him bolting within 2 or 3 years. Some team that's serious about this football shyt is gonna cut a check that our admins/boosters won't have the vision to see why they need to match it:yeshrug:

What specifically are they refusing to do to remain competitive? Are you talking about the coach's salary?

Basically their division is causing the school to be the main decision makers. Specifically, there should be a lot more "special positions" or consultants. There was a big backlash on this after Mack because some thought the spending was out of control and refused to do this with Strong, which I think has hurt him a lot. The divided factions have never backed Strong. They are all over the place on replacing him as well. Of course that's natural with different opinions, but they refuse to get together and figure it out. So you get these factions pushing certain people. If that person is chosen, they end up having to support that coach on their own. Its ridiculous. Create a council or something to figure this out since you can't on your own. I used to try to follow this stuff through people in Texas-Exes, and going to meetings and stuff, but I'm outta that now. You could see it was going the way of national politics. Will be curious if the younger people in these groups will even fukk with it like that. We are close to non-football, non-money people choosing these things based off of image and graduation rate. That's fine, but its NOT a football school.
