It sounds like they didn't need the President initially and dude would have taken the job, but Charlie was being undermined by the money people. Reading between the lines, the president is trying to seperate himself from the politics and get to winning. What's pathetic are the politics going on here. People are being silly thinking this is about anything more than that. No one turns down 3 or 4x the money because its they don't want to work at Texas. The BMDs at Texas were trying to make it look like he wouldn't have any security at all. That's the shyt show everyone is running from. The President stepping in is huge, but boy might that have political implications for him in the future.
