Not to suck him off, Prez and AD needed to be there to "show" Charlie had their full support and to iron out the details of the contract and clear up any miscommunication. No begging involved, dude coaches for fukking Tulsa, who wouldn't leave their for UT?

Cumbie wanted assurance Strong would be there after this year or how many wins it would take for Charlie to keep his job, neither was answered, and rightfully so, that is a bit different.

It sounds like they didn't need the President initially and dude would have taken the job, but Charlie was being undermined by the money people. Reading between the lines, the president is trying to seperate himself from the politics and get to winning. What's pathetic are the politics going on here. People are being silly thinking this is about anything more than that. No one turns down 3 or 4x the money because its they don't want to work at Texas. The BMDs at Texas were trying to make it look like he wouldn't have any security at all. That's the shyt show everyone is running from. The President stepping in is huge, but boy might that have political implications for him in the future.
