Going to be a weird situation for TCU if Meachum doesn't land in a HC gig. I would have to assume they gave Cumbie a raise, which means if Meachum stays he'll need a raise as well, since he is actually the one that calls the plays. We offered Meachum 1.3 a year, I'd assume TCU had to offer a bump to at least a 1mil.

I just don't see Charlie making it...

edit: Like Gilbert in theory is a better candidate and would love to have him. Shawn Watson should have never been here these last two years. I remember reading early about how Charlie is loyal and sometimes to a fault. Never thought it be the reason the odds are stacked against him.

Nahlin on more details about Cumbie situation

I'll let JS hash out the drama, but real quickly, Strong was left to negotiate some things that weren't nearly as cut and dried (or approved) as people think. WTF is Mack Brown drawing a pay check for? He's in NYC, that's good enough. Send Deloss. This is the most important week of the offseason (unrelated to Spring football) and Perrin's in NYC? What's more important to the University? Further, Strong could be in Michigan midweek while still trying to get the OC situation handled but Perrin can't do both? It's utterly comical to me.

But, Strong's the easy mark right now and Perrin's untouchable. Both f***** up the Cumbie deal.

So we botched the Cumbie deal, didn't give an offer to Gilbert, and now we are interviewing Cal OC Tony Franklin?

@backinmyday @satam55 are you guys hearing anything about disorganization in the program right now under Strong? I've heard Nahlin hint at it and so have a few insiders on OB. That blurb from Nahlin above is despicable.
what are they saying on OB?

Nahlin mention that he heard about Strong being unorganized when he was originally hired... I'm curious to hear what the fukk is going on. Nahlin hasn't expounded on the disorganization currently

little things like players don't know where to meet for gamedays, some coaches going thru the motions during practice, lack of communication of a 'tactical plan' during halftimes. supposedly some of the players feel like more and more is expected of them but the coaches aren't earning their keep scheme wise.

I'm so sick of this shyt:francis:

some dude on scout is saying Shane and his parents aren't impressed so far with the coaching search and how its being handled according to the posters connection in the Dallas/Arlington coaching area

could be fake but not hard to believe

We didn't botch the Cumbie deal. We gave him a fair offer IMO and he didn't take it. That doesn't mean it was botched. And I'm not even sure he is a level above Gilbert who I think is a lock at this point.

Nahlin is going to be butthurt over the Cumbie thing because that is someone he talks to, so he wanted the source more than anything, same reason he is throwing out Applewhites name who I doubt will ever be hired by UT again. So take everything he is saying at this point with a grain of salt.

I haven't heard of disorganization within the program from a credible source, I do know that on the offensive side of the staff there were issues, which is why Norvell is likely the only one to be retained.

yeah, IT knows football but they let their subjective feelings input their opinions too much... Ian is the worst about it imo
