Homie we got motherfukkers in here who were 2 when tupac died so be easy on that shyt. I said I think 2pac's dope I don't get into the middle of a 2pac debate b/c shyt get's hectic real quick. IDGAF what someone else thinks about 2pac
Now,nikka you chose to put that number out there. I'm telling you what that number means. If you don't want to get in the middle, why are you here, why respond at all. You cant give an opinion and say I DONT GET IN THE MIDDLE. nikka you're in the middle by your own actions. "SMoke weed wonder why nikkas blowed him out, next time grown folks talking nikka close ya mouth"
(don't even ask me how)

Hilarious, thinking pac can't rap this well. Rakim was looked up to by pac and he definitely had something. But pac surpassed him. 3 of the 4 songs you posted are basically rakim rapping about rapping, whoop dee doo nikka.
2pac,same age rakim was in 88

Age rakim was in 86' I clearly see rakim's influence on pac

later

"He made it a hot line,i made it a hot song"

If that's what you think of one of the top 3 emcee's ever then there's nothing left to say. Brushing him off as some regular rapper that was easily surpassed by someone not on his lyrical level shows me you can't have a serious discussion about Pac's lyrical skill. You will not find 3 emcee's more lyrical than Ra. That's the fact. Too many of his fans get clouded on him & how he makes them feel instead of judging from a technical standpoint his actual skill.

Lol I didnt brush him off. I acknowledged him and addressed him. You said pac couldnt do this or that and i think I proved that nonsense wrong. Also pac kept getting better till he died, rakim peaked in the 80's (though i fux with THE 18TH LETTER). PAC'S catalog > rakim's. And it's by a very large margin. If someone wants the rakim experience, all they need is the 18th letter double disc, with the GOAT you need much more. Sorry

You didn't prove anything Fam. You posted some songs but they weren't lyrical. Maybe lyrical for Pac standards but not the true definition. Pac was a different type of emcee than Rakim, that's a fact. He was similar to KRS in his subject matter but wasn't nearly as lyrical. I don't know why you think Pac was this lyrical monster when he wasn't that type of rapper. Pac didn't have the entendres, metaphors, wordplay, punchlines as the great ones because he wasn't that type of emcee. Rakim is the epitome of that type of emcee. It doesn't matter if he fell off the way he did. It doesn't take away from his legacy & him being a top 3 guy.

So being hot for a few years, having bout 15 memorable songs = him being top 3? Ok,if you say so

This is my last post on this because if you have to ask me for stand out lines or examples of Ra's greatness then there's nothing left to say. You just wanna argue it seems. If you're a fan of hip hop & not just Pac I wouldn't have to do that. Ra might not be everyone's favorite or liked, but to question his greatness, skill, & impact is laughable. I leave you with this:

"I take 7 emcee's put em in a line
and add 7 more brothers who think they can rhyme,
Well it'll take 7 more before I'll go for mine
Now that's 21 emcee's ate up at the same time
".

"They shouldn't have told me you said you control me
So now a contest is what you owe me
Pull out your money, pull out your cut
Pull up a chair, and i'mma tear ish up

My name is Rakim Allah, and R and A stands for "Ra"
Switch it around, it still comes out "R
"

Which I posted already:

artists should be judged on songwriting ability. same for rappers. rappity rapinp rap rappers get too much praise. nikkaz getting bonus points for cramming 100 sylabbles into a bar. fact is, art is supposed to illuminate the human condition. do these rappity rap rappers do that? some do. J live. Black Thought. but pac examined the black man cindition better than any rapper i can think off. maybe scarface did it better, but pac was elite on that level. and by the time 7 day theory dropped, he was at the peak of his songwriting. at least 2 joints on that album will make a nikka cry.

This is my problem with PAC and his fans. When we used to sit around and argue about MC's it always came down to lyrics. If it was Nas, Jay, Big, Redman or whoever was your favorite you had to present your case using this or that line or verse. Pac fans just kept telling me how real he was or his passion. I just care about bars. I can't rate a nikka off an interview.

Thats exactly what I'm saying. Where them Tupac bars that make you and your whole crew scrunch up yer faces and
tell your mans closest to the music to pause the music and play them lyrics on repeat?
