I remember Questlove saying him, Jay, and other rap "elites" (my word not his) argue about whether Pac was an average rapper or not. smh

That east coast pomposity:wow:.....Pac had the gift of connectivity, but nikkaz try to downplay it by measuring his natural/inherent abilities up against more shallow qualities like wordplay & punchlines.

That pompous shyt...they wanna measure him by "THEIR STANDARDS" as if their opinion of the art form is the golden standard/ only one that counts.

Just look around the thread...nothing but NY nikkaz talking greasy.

Like Pac said "I may have lost NY, but I gained the other 49 states":blessed:

Hell...The whole fukking globe now.

I respect your opinion fam but you're crazy with what I bolded. A huge part of being a dope emcee is to have great wordplay & punch lines which the great ones have. That's the problem with emcee's nowadays because they're not as witty or smart with their words & it's dumbed down the music.

i'm still trying to figure out how anyone can shyt on
"brenda's got a baby"? even with stating that his first 2 albums weren't anything special to me that is a classic storytelling track. i've listened to that one just as much as something like "never seen a man cry", "train robbery", "one love", "teenage love", "left me lonely" etc
after i sat there and read everything the man just comes off like a hater...i would've had more respect for him if he went the whole "2pac wasn't a technical mc" route(which i still disagree with it's just more true than trying shyt on his album and song making ability)

I understand.I don't think it's not important, just shallow compared to the overall message/ ability to connect with the listener. It's a lot of rapping robots out here who know how to flip wordplay & create punchlines all day, but they couldn't put together a complete song to save their life.

True this is a talent. But people act as if the qualities 2pac has are an accident and are not noteworthy. Meanwhile all these rappers WANT what 2pac's talent brought him as far as getting that love and being felt. People need to understand that these are finely tuned skills that NO ONE can match 2pac with. But they're all trying. People act as if 2pac just happens to sound passionate on the mic as he does. 2pac is the ONLY rapper that can do the variation of songs that he did and make you believe in every type of song he did. Most other nikkas either stay in a lane or try to come out and fail and sound corny.

The explosive raw shyt that dmx had and people like nas,jay dont have,2pac had.

That smooth player vibe like a snoop, jay, fab etc that nas doesnt have,2pac had

The creativity that a nas or krs one have, that jay/fab dont have, 2pac had.

That ability to do that llcoolj love type shyt,2pac had

To have that real depth in sons like a face or a nas,2pac had.
He's just the goat. That shyt takes talent.

FF 13:25 He breaks the game down. Now we could debate what's more important, punchlines or creative detailing/proper emotion for the subject etc. But the people already spoke. Most of them punchline nikkas going around claiming to be the best or complaining about not being called the best. While 2pac NEVER called himself the best, yet he's called the best by the most people.

Now that folks is how you lose credibility

There was a couple lines before that where he called Pac a weed carrier and "lil homie" to DU, dissed "Juice", and right off the bat said the only reason he gave his discography a spin is because his fans were getting annoying.

I'm not the biggest Pac fan but dudes need to stop pretending to be objective. You can talk about how you dislike Pac or think he's over rated without throwing blatant shots because you have an agenda. And dude obviously has an agenda....I don't know how a neutral person can read that and not see it.

I respect your opinion fam but to me Tupac will never be the GOAT & I like him as an emcee. On a technical level as an emcee to me Pac was a little above average. He made up for that with the emotion he brought to the mic which elevates him.

You dont have to,but when you (and others) say he made up with emotion etc,ya'll dont understand he took his stance on purpose. It wasnt a I CANT DO THIS type of situation he knew his way was best approach and it was. That's why all them other rappers cant reach him and wish they got the props he got.

He might've taken that stance on purpose but Pac knew his lane & played that position well. He knew he wasn't that lyrical so he brought something else to the table. There's no shame in that.
