We all agree Earl Sweatshirt is the best young lyricist in Hip Hop right now, right?

Because his album was wack and he lost most his underground and popular audience

Please don't talk about music anymore.

Stick to telling :duck: about Brazilian Ji-Jitsu. It's more your speed.

Do yall listen to music or just skim forums:dwillhuh:

Earl had him beat by the first bar, and I been fukking with Vinny Stapes.

Vince's verse on this sold me on his abilities as a rapper, just calm and collected but spits fire.

I'm older then you I own more music then you I'm more hip hop then you and ah beatcho ass. That makes me more qualified to speak on these easily truths. Earl shoulda been a ghost writer. Mic presence is trash, his voice is wack. His bars are cool and his beats are early garbage. Doris was his chance to make a a name for himself and he blew it. Dude is FINISHED. Both domogenesis albums better then that last weed plate earl put out. You're a groupie so you can't be reasoned with

Mantra
Faucet
Grief

That 3 track succession :wow:

Grown Ups and Wool are really nice too. Overall, it's a very quality piece of work and is laced with gems throughout.

I think Earl needs to step away from the dark, minimalist beats and focus on expanding his sound a little. He's been in the studio with Metro so I'm real curious to hear how that sounds.

I'm not too excited to hear Earl over potential trap beats. I mean, Uncle Al sounded good, and I'm sure he would do well on them, but part of what I enjoy listening to Earl, is that I feel like I'm listening to music from another part of the rap world. :wow:

Yeah, Earl one of the best spitters of this generation period. His subject matter and the darkness to his music just isn't for everyone. He doesn't make gangsta rap/trap rap and he doesn't do turn up music, so you really gotta seek his shyt. IDLS, IDGO is in my personal top 5 albums of 2015. Dude had BARRRRRRRS for days on that joint.. I'd have to pull up and rewind just to catch certain shyt he said. He's one of the few artists of this generation who would hold their own lyrically with heavyweights of the 90s. He is a very gifted writer.

Been an Earl fan since 2010 and I agree. His music is just too depressing to ever get that recognition he deserves imo.

And not that Drake or Childish Gambino "waah you broke up with me, I'm still in love, gonna watch cartoons now" shyt, but fukking absolute despair, getting drunk near train tracks level depression.

:laff:

Earl's "depression" is completely manufactured for marketing purposes. IDLS, IDGO is pure trash because of this. "Wahh, I have a xanax problem". It's so forced, even the TITLE. I know the internet doesn't agree with me but he was spitting way harder when he was on some horrorcore, or DOOM copying. Now I fall asleep within 10 seconds of any of his songs. Faucet is the only song I'm thinking of that I liked on that album. That and wool.

"Getting drunk near train tracks" :mjlol: Earl is a good rapper, not a good actor. I can see right through this shyt. The really depressed people never talk about being depressed. He needs to go back to making music with energy, he was way more captivating that way.

Why do people like wiki and act like he's the best out of the new school? :jbhmm:

He's got a trash voice, trash delivery, and his rhymes aren't impressive.

People act like Ratking is good :russ: overrated group, just like fbz.

IF you ask me, the best spitters from this gen are Retch and Vince. No gimmicks like every other rapper. Just straight up rappin.

People act like Joey's good, too, but he just makes me want to listen to golden age instead, seeing as how they did it better.:manny:

Depressed alcoholic nerds love this dude. Music fell way the hell off and you're right. He was ways better on that horror core shyt
