Let's be reality all of these kids who were associated with Odd Future turned out to be really good artists in their own rights. We made fun of them for being these weird, skateboarding outcasts, but they have all made waves on their own at this point. I think we forget when they first came out, most of these kids were between 15-18. Now that they have matured we now see how good they really were as artists, they were just raw.
As for Earl, he has grown the most as a rapper, I have seen in maybe 15 years. He went from basically cloning late 90's Em to finding his own voice and he is definitely part of this new wave of under 25 rappers who are essentially the leaders of the new school. In his age range, I think he is only behind Vince Staples and Joey Badass and even then I'm only talking about a small margin. I do think Earl is by far the best writer of the three and his flows are technically on par, even if he still needs to liven his delivery to match the lyrics at times.
