aight cool...i'm with it.

@producingfire I know you were one of the guys who helped to introduce this boxing format and I don't want to side step on anyone's toes...just trying to help tweak this. Do you have any disagreements or adjustments to my proposal? if not we can update the first post and get everyone up to speed on what we plan to do.
Doesn't bother me. The whole point of this was to get a higher concentrated volume of music. So how would the match making work? Would the matches still be based on those 2 specific divisions?

Most definately will be division based. I love the idea of the WBC and IBF, it brings more competition to each battle.

Regarding the matchmaking it goes like this

Normal challenges:

Rule #3 - Anyone ranked between 2nd-6th can only challenge those in that specific range. Anyone ranked 7th can challenge guys ranging from 5-11. Anyone ranked 8th and below can only challenge those ranked 7th-11th.

This goes for both divisions. Also, you can only challenge a person in your tier once per month (to make it more interesting and to make sure battles are more diverse). Everyone is obligated to battle at least once per month (this may change to once every 2 weeks) so guys arent declining challenges left and right because of laziness.

Title Challenges:

Rule #4 - You need to have a minimum of 4 wins to challenge for the title. Also, only those ranked 2nd-6th can challenge for the title and priority goes to the guy with the best record who is next in line for a shot at the belt.

Rule #5 - You can only challenge once per month for the title. If you lose you will have to wait till the month before issuing another challenge. Also, because of rule #4 if you were ranked 2nd and lost to the champion, you will have to wait till the the guys ranked 3rd-6th get a shot in that month, that is if you are still ranked in the top 6 after losing, if not you have to fight your way back up before challenging for the title. Also, because of the wait you may not be able to challenge for the title for more than a month, this puts added pressure on each competitor to be at their best every week.

Again, this goes for both divisions. Title challenges will always go in a set order from 2nd-6th ranked guy so that everyone in that tier has a shot at the belt every month. This will give more prestige to the title instead of watching it being challenged every week by anyone with a win on their record. You need to have a set amount of wins and those wins have to place you within the top 6 beat makers in a division (with the #1 guy being the belt holder). Also, my reason for having title matches every month is to again bring more prestige to each title (WBC & IBF) and to let the winners have something to brag about for a month till someone earned the right to challenge them for it (they can still spar till the next title match which can bring stories about them falling off or being better than ever). I think the titles lose value when they can be challenged for every single week.

If we gon do this..let's do it right.

@AkaDemiK @producingfire

So you guys wanna shoot for Sunday December 1st @8pm for the first card under the updated rules. It'd be cool if one or both of you guys can help walk people through it in the WBC match making thread, and I'll do the same on the IBF side. I think our goal right now should be to get all the guys who haven't battled yet into at least one match before we start rankng like you said Ak.

See, my thing is what if Im ranked 4th and individuals I want to challenge are in other matches or not available or just havent been active in the league. It could be weeks going without a "ranked battle".

I like the idea of individuals in the each division being able to challenge anyone besides the champion. Thats when rank, w-l, can be taken into effective.

Tiers

Champion - Rank 1

Contenders - Rank 2-6

Challengers - 7-11

The only person who has to wait for a match is the Champion and they are guaranteed a bout at the end of every month in a PPV. If you are ranked 4th you have 4 other guys to battle and let's say you have to battle every 2 weeks to be considered active...you are a guaranteed a match or 2 per month fam. Also, take into consideration that you can only battle someone once per month, which makes creating bouts easier and more diverse.

I hate the idea of anyone being able to challenege the champion because that's not how it works in boxing (and we are adopting there system in a sense). You will need to have a certain amount of wins (3-4) and based on where your overall record places you then you can challenge the champion. There needs to be some sort of order or it's going to be a free for all/first come first served type of deal with challenging for a title...that shyt is corny to me. Why should someone who is 1-0 be able to challenge for a title when someone else has a 3-0 record? with my system priority will go to the 3-0 guy first before the 1-0 guy....the person that puts in the most work (wins) will get a title shot....just like boxing.

The only thing we have to worry about is everyone being active enough to keep this going. This is why I want to put in a mandatory rule for everyone to battle at least twice per month or they are kicked out...no exceptions. This way everyone will be able to battle (and you being ranked 4th will be able to get enough matches in your 2-6 range of players.

and not to say the new system was all bad but alot of the reasoning behind the votes disappearing is because is most people arent battling its not as much of a incentive to vote also the votes were more of a give and take kind of thing where if someone critiqued someone elses beat in that round they would return the favor. The tunnel somewhat died down after the league changes because everyone wasnt battling at the same time, therefore no reason to visit until they were ready to.

The thing I'm noticing in the IBF is some guys want to battle and are embracing the challenge system, but other guys want to battle and don't really care to challenge anyone or setup matches... They just want to submit their beats and battle. So this how I'm approaching it in the IBF right now (already posted in the IBF thread):

If you wanna battle you either (1) call out an opponent directly, and setup a match; or (2) state your availability and you'll be paired up with someone on Wednesday before the match randomly (eventually will be based on rankings).

I think one thing we're seeing is a mixed response to the new system, some are engaged, others aren't feeling it. We eventually wanna get some middle ground there.
