You wasn’t getting ANYTHING for him at this point. With his play and that contract, you just gotta eat it

Fall back, sell off high paid vets, keep the foundational players as best you can, and gain draft capital…fire the GM that did that Watson contract(my bad, do this first!) and rebuild…

If they cut him in the offseason(they won't), that'd be 170 mil of dead cap money that you could spread over a couple years. What they'll do is roster him but probably bench him. It saves $$$ in the long term. Realistically the earliest they can cut him is 2027 without completely nuking their cap
