JJ only had success when he worked for his daddy in USWA. Everywhere else he worked he got pushes and sucked ass. WWF twice, WCW twice and then TNA which he started with his daddy. shyt on HHH all you want but at the very least he would've done better than Jarrett even if he didn't marry the bosses daughter. You can't exclude his work with DX and he was always a more credible opponent for the top guys than slap nuts JJ.
I don’t think he necessarily sucked in the WWF. He was kinda like a decent troll heel midcard IC champ level guy. Kinda like a better Honky Tonk Man.

I think in his 1st WCW run he poorly booked and sabotaged from the start. They made him a face and he wasn’t meant to be a face. Plus no one could be an effective face in WCW during the NWO’s reign. Sting had to become a fukking mime who never talked and rappelled from the ceiling dressed like the crow to be over against cool heels of the NWO. They immediately put JJ in angle against the NWO as a face. He had no chance.

During his first IC champ run he had some good matches with HBK. What if he stayed in the WWF and was given Chyna as a bodyguard and got paired in a heel clique with her and HBK? What if Steve Austin worked with him as WWF creative wanted?

Overall, I agree Triple H > JJ mainly because of his size and look which makes him seem more formidable against guys like Rock and Austin. I just don’t think there’s as wide a gulf between the two as it would seem on the surface. That’s more an indictment on HHH as a 14 time WWE champion who was booked so dominantly than it is a praising of Jeff Jarrett. I don’t think aristocrat HHH was over anymore than country singer Jarrett even after winning KOR.

All of this. Perfectly sums him up.

ya'll gotta stop with this shyt lol

Yeah this is a super reach... there was never a point in Jeff Jarrett's career that being the champion seemed remotely justified, even if it was a transitional role, and definitely not as a "top heel" role. Some folks might not like HHH but he and the Rock were perfect rivals, and he worked well with Stone Cold, Foley, Jericho (in 2000), Batista, Michaels, etc... those later runs with the title were trash, that '03 reign of terror was garbage, I ain't sayin' HHH was always great... but Jeff Jarrett doesn't have one storyline/feud/match I ever gave a shyt about, even if it was with a wrestler I liked.

One of them is one of the greatest heels of all time and the other one was a glorified mid carder. They are not in the same realm.

I don't even fukk with Trips like that but him smashing the bosses daughter only contributed to his heel run :wow:

What I’m getting from you and others in this thread is basically HHH was better than JJ because he was bigger, taller and used more and probably a higher quality of PEDs (he was built like Edge at first). I can buy that.

You are correct :russ: Now I will add that Jeff Jarrett has maybe 1 classic match in his lifetime (vs HBK in 95) while HHH has a bunch, but HHH doesn’t have a single classic match where he is the one that led the charge stood out, and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s why HHH is the greatest B+ player in wrestling history. I don’t know why people think this is such a huge contrast between the two. Add 4 more inches and 30 more pounds to Jeff Jarrett, and he’s HHH, mic skills and all:manny: HHH is a bigger taller Jeff Jarrett with better industry connections.

people dont realize that jeff jarrett was world champion everywhere he went, except the WWE where austin held him down.

he didnt win the TNA title just because he ran the company.
but did he go overboard with it?? yes.

JJ had a good feud and string of matches with HBK and he was a pretty good IC champ in his first WWF run.

He got along with HBK since their pre-WWF days and HBK respected his work in the ring.

Maybe if he never went to WCW the 1st time he could’ve worked with HBK either as a heel ally or heel opponent.

Once Vince approached Austin about working with him while Austin was champ and Austin told Vince Jarrett sucks and he doesn’t deserve to work with him, it was a wrap for him ever being in the main event scene.

How can you compare the two when HHH is in the top 10 of the highest drawing champions in wrestling history?

Ridiculous thread
