Didn’t see anything in the OP and I’m not gonna search an article looking for it. :ld:

He was talking about how NWO got so popular and they kept ragging on the babyfaces it made WCW uncool in comparison to the NWO and how in general its tricky to book the cool heel if you're gonna decide to keep them heel (in respect to the MJF situation)

He didnt say they were uncool (though they did get uncool after a couple of years honestly)

Op shoulda elaborated on it instead of making a thread title at face value. :shaq2:

Reading comprehension is vital OP. From the link you posted:

Dave Meltzer then compared MJF receiving loud pops to nWo getting cheered in WCW despite working as the heels. He further noted that nWo’s popularity made WCW look “uncool and incompetent” and eventually killed the babyfaces in the company and caused long-term damage to the WCW brand.

He's talking about how NWO despite being heels wouldnt sell in promos as heels and kinda make the WCW babyfaces look corny. Theres always a debate about that. As bullies they're supposed to do that, its not their fault the fans react how they do, but I also think NWO definetly felt themselves too much and changed plans all the time which fukked shyt up. Eventually shyt was just a white boy frat house.

Hes even wrong with that take because people cheered Sting, Luger DDP, Flair and the Horsemen, Goldberg, the Steiners and even Piper. Hogan kept the NWO vilified

MJF getting positive reactions was clearly not the plan, and the crowd cheering MJF “made the promotion seem uncool,” the report added. But were they all more popular then NWO?
Well, when they attempted to overtake them we know what Nash and Hoegan tried

Glad someone pointed this out because meltzer is actually right about that specific aspect. Making WCW wrestlers look like chumps every week hurt the overall product in the long term given the amount of times they went back to the nWo well. Even with Sting winning the title, they botched the outcome.

This is true too. Especially with how they destroyed the Horsemen in Flair Country and by having Henning turn on Flair.

Every time Scott Hall did his survey and 75% of the crowd booed the "Dubya see dubya" it made the supposed babyfaces in the storyline seem lame as hell. Granted they didn't boo Goldberg/Sting/Lex individually, so in that respect I think Dave is overstating things a bit. But that whole nWo angle was just heat and heat and heat without a sufficient payoff for the "good guys" once they messed up the Hogan-Sting match.
