Was the fire department 🚒 wrong for smashing the car windows?

Fukk that car. A building is on fire
The car isn't directly in front of the hydrant. Run the hose around it or over the car. He wasted time breaking windows.

Nope. I can't speak for that city, but your car will get flipped in Chicago parking near a hydrant when there is a fire. Don't do it.
They could have gone over or around the car, easily. Even kinked the hose to do it. They did it because they wanted to.

They tell you not to park in front of fire hydrants for this reason
The firetruck was in the way more than the car was.
edit: and what the hell kind of windows are those? When my car got broken into last year my shyt was completely shattered and i would have heard somebody doing all that beating.

The barriers around the hydrant are the indicator of where you should not park. The other car is maybe three feet farther away. They wasted time unnecessarily breaking a car's windows to prove a point. Don't forget, these are the same motherfukkers that used to leave black and brown people burning alive ON PURPOSE.
The owner of the far had 33 tickets for parking close to fire hydrants before that incident. The fire department wasn't wrong for what they did at all.
It looks like the car is legally parked. 
The poles on both sides of the hydrant mark the no parking area and the car is outside the pole.
I also dont see red painting on the curb to extend the fire parking area.
Maybe there is a sign that the video doesn’t show that proves the car was parked illegally.
