I think an Austin/Jarrett feud in 98 or 99 would’ve been entertaining.

I think Austin obviously would’ve had to been booked stronger than JJ, but JJ could’ve been a good chickenshyt heel pest who the crowd would’ve love to see get the shyt beaten out of him by Austin. A month or so long feud culminating in a PPV with Austin going over clean. Debra does her thing on the ring apron. Austin acts like he’s mesmerized then gives her the double bird then a stunner followed by JJ getting a stunner then pinned.

I think it woulda been good. I don't necessarily fault Austin cause that's a good business scope in Jeff not being able to keep up promo or ring wise, but I would have liked to see it.

Being honest, I always felt Jeff needed to stop trying to be charismatic and just be an a$$hole. He would have been a good heel. I think he focused too much on trying to get something from fans rather than leaving them with something, if that makes sense.

Barring all of Austin’s old resentment, It would’ve never made sense at any point in JJ’s run to me. Like the random stunners are as good as it gets.

Jeff Jarrett? Nobody cares about that mediocrity. He had no good mic skills, no great in ring skills, nothing to show.
He was booking himself as champ in TNA. He couldn't make it in the big league so he had his own show to masquerade as a champ. I don't know anyone who was enjoying Jeff TNA championship run. It was like a chore to watch Jeff in a wrestling match.

Its proven Double J is a shady business man, and went into business for himself ON austin during a promo. Why THE fukk would Austin when on the rise work with that BUM? He did the industry a favor. He spent that time working with owen, rock, and hhh instead.

every time austin refused to work it made 100% sense
  • Double Trash
  • Facing THE COACH at taboo tuesday
  • Jobbing to brock on free tv
  • Hogan because he knew hogan would fukk him like he eventually did HHH and HBK

eff JJ

Steve was 100% wrong... and Vince was wrong for letting him call those kind of shots.... due to this Austin refused the hogan match and ultimately walked out on the company becausehe was allowedto feel himself on that level. We never got stone cold vs Goldberg because of this

why wouldn't he feel himself on that level? He's the hottest wrestler ever in wrestling, according to Vince, dollar for dollar no one made him more money than Austin and I'm sure he was aware of it at the time. You gonna risk your golden goose saying fukk it and going back to WCW for Jeff fukking Jarrett?

So you believe austin losing to hogan was best for business at mania 18? You believe austin losing to brock on SMACKDOWN with days notice was best for business? He WAS at that level.

It got to the point where he just walked out.... why not have him work with JJ... he would've won... there's nothing on the mic or in the ring JJ could do with Austin. Just do the program and squash his bytch ass.

What he let Austin do back then is part of the reason why he feels like he has to control everything now... Vince shouldve put his foot down and wrestling would be better off

I didn't say Austin should've lost to hogan... but they should've wrestled 100%. I would definitely want austin to win.

And im on the fence with the Austin Brock shyt... brock was brock at that time... he killed hulkamania on smackdown :yeshrug:

It seems like austin just saw the set up, said fukk it and walked out the building. I dont recall any story about actual negotiation
