Austin felt like he had to fight and claw for everything he got and that JJ was always given the easy road cuz he’s a promoters kid

It would have benefited Jarrett and not Austin, but it wouldn't have hurt Austin.

A small feud would have made sense. Especially when you factor in Debra. Alternatively, he could have been an annoying antagonist who kept getting in Austin's way/trying to cost him matches and failing.

99 was JJ’s best WWE year so I think a filler feud could’ve worked for one non-major PPV

Either way, woulda been a pointless feud for Austin at the time.
