Honorable mentions:
Andrae Bruce
Rick Mirer
Blair Thomas
People low key don't know about Mirer or B Thomas...Mirer to this day is still a shocker that he ended up being trash...i honestly didnt know who was gonna be better...him or bledsoe that year...B Thomas...you have to go way back...and be a PEnn State fan to know about him....but Dan Wikenson is another bust #1 overall in 1994...and not a pro bowl or anything

Jeff George threw one of the nicest balls you'd see. It's what was between his ears that kept him from being a star in the NFL. Why else do you think he was drafted first overall and last 11 years in the league.

Just remember Todd Marinovich was also drafted before Brett.
Todd was terrible. Like leaf before leaf.

He did not start a game until Jay Schroeder was injured before the final week of the season, where he impressed observers with 23 completions in 40 passes for 243 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in a close loss.[1] Because of this great debut he started the following week against the Chiefs in the playoffs, but was very poor, throwing for just 140 yards with four interceptions in a 10-6 loss and smashing a locker room mirror with his helmet after the game.

After the Raiders began 0-2 in 1992 with Schroeder as quarterback, Marinovich became the starter. He threw for 395 yards in a loss in his first start that season and lost the following week as the Raiders started 0-4. He then won three of his next four games before losing to the Dallas Cowboys. Marinovich's best game during that span was against the Buffalo Bills on October 11, 1992, in which he completed 11 of 21 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-3 victory.[9] The following week Marinovich started against the Philadelphia Eagles, seeing three of his first 10 passes intercepted. Schroeder regained the starting job and Marinovich never played again in the NFL.

I always loved watching Jeff George throw. He seemed so effortless the way he launched the ball. Million dollar arm, 2 cent brain.

That's what makes him the biggest bust...he was taken directly in front of 3 HOFers. He was the orginal Darko. The Packers with any three of those guys is a problem. IIRC didn't he basically cheese the combine and work on all the drills so that he could beast at them despite not being shyt as an actual player or is that Mandela?

You're thinking of Mike Mamula

Again he was overrated.
I watched him play locally consistently.
Not sure what scouts saw.
Jeff george, rick mirer and tony banks are the three wprst qbs i ever saw consistently and to this day. I have no idea what a scout saw.
except for being a black or white idea of Golden boi. Without on ounce of golden future play amoung the three of them.

Rick Mier. How dude went #2 overall with some of the most pedestrian college states I've ever seen for a pick that high. In the NFL dude only had one season where he threw more tds than picks. Trash af.
