We've got to stop doing this with 2pac. Yes he shot 2 cops, but he didn't know they were cops. In reality, he did what I HOPE any of us would do. He found 2 crakkers harassing a black man on the street and intervened. They didn't identify themselves as cops, drew their weapons, he drew his weapon and started firing. Now, when people say, "2pac shot 2 cops", the story they envision is 2pac pulling up to a traffic stop with lights everywhere and started blasting and then got acquitted. A half/truth can still be lie in some way.

I think 2pac was an intelligent individual that just wanted to be accepted and got with the wrong crew that would match the energy he wanted to put out there(Death Row) and he was dead not even a year after hooking up with them. I've said it many times up here, if you read the last biography written about him(the most comprehensive one), it's a goddamn miracle he lived as long as he did with the amount of stuff he kept getting into that was avoidable. Great artist though.

A wanksta is a fake gangsta. Pac didn’t come up slangin and bangin in the street and all that, for all intents and purposes he was a good, cultured kid. Nothing about him seemed phony tho, he was who he was.

When he deviated from the performing arts kid into the more street, aggressive type dude that’s really who he became, it wasn’t an act…as is evident by the rap sheet and gunplay stats and everything else. Ive always wondered tho, from all you OG's who were around at that time, was it reported and discussed by people about him NOT knowing they were cops? Or did everybody believe he really shot on duty officers and all that?

Obviously this was pre internet so information didnt travel as fast and as accurate as now but ive always been curious to know.

How is that on Pac? He didn’t even bring her there. She came with the dudes who supposedly committed the rape. It would be one thing if Pac brought her there and left her alone with those dudes, but he’s not responsible for what they decided to do. If you have some roommates and they bring a chick over, you decide to leave and they rape her, should you be held accountable?

This topic, and the way I view someone's thug, are why I don't consider Maino a g. He's clearly selective with how he demonstrates his thug, and on the flip its why someone I don't care for at all, 50, I would consider a gangsta, a guy who doesn't have a history (that I know of) of being choosy with confrontation.

That said, all gangstas don't respect or like each other, this is one of those in a vacuum things. I think Maino is likeable enough, good for him he held his own with some big names. I don't buy the built Ford tough shyt, though.

And being completely self-aware, my bias is always gonna be skewed towards brothers who jumped off the porch when they were kids, brothers where there's a documented history they were outside as kids. We all have biases, I'm aware that's one of mine. Maino passes that part of it but Pac certainly doesn't, there's just no world I could view Pac that way. He's astronomically different from guys I view that way in my mind's eye.
