There's no neighborhood or block that vouch for him being a gangster. Only his fans and flunkies try to paint him like that. He was an artist that got into situations here and there but he didn't come up like that. He ran up under gangsters for protection and to develop his rap persona.

Even if he was , it shouldn't matter to anyone or change their opinion about his music.......rap music is just entertainment like the movies. 🍿

Rappers are no different than Denzel in Training Day or DeNiro in his gangster flicks.

The fact that they are nothing like what they portray in their movies doesn't make us like them any less.

The same should apply to rappers since it's all.....just entertainment.

A young, fiery brother, with revolutionary pedigree who never could find a cause to direct his energy.Which, I believe, In the end, was well meaning, and honorable intent. His mistake was thinking he could hang with, and form alliances with any "brother".Had a crazy, messianic level of charisma that's rare amongst musicians.Maybe only Bob Marley's in that category with him.Which is why women still cry for him today. Not saying I necessarily agree, but through death, he's reached a level of God hood.Jada Pinkett weeps because even Will Smith can't compare to Black Jesus. Some niccaz stay mad about it & hate his status till this day :pachaha:

What’s a gangster anyway?

Pac sold drugs in Marin City, bust his gun, joined MOB even before that was running around with crews and street dudes and later on big time gangsters. He was dramatic and performative and people question if that was him at his essence but he was doing shyt

Dude was live wire he had screws missing was quick to scrap or try to hurt people

Any one can join a gang and be a “gangster”

We've got to stop doing this with 2pac. Yes he shot 2 cops, but he didn't know they were cops. In reality, he did what I HOPE any of us would do. He found 2 crakkers harassing a black man on the street and intervened. They didn't identify themselves as cops, drew their weapons, he drew his weapon and started firing. Now, when people say, "2pac shot 2 cops", the story they envision is 2pac pulling up to a traffic stop with lights everywhere and started blasting and then got acquitted. A half/truth can still be lie in some way.

I think 2pac was an intelligent individual that just wanted to be accepted and got with the wrong crew that would match the energy he wanted to put out there(Death Row) and he was dead not even a year after hooking up with them. I've said it many times up here, if you read the last biography written about him(the most comprehensive one), it's a goddamn miracle he lived as long as he did with the amount of stuff he kept getting into that was avoidable. Great artist though.
The fukk does it matter nikka, he saw a nikka getting jumped and took action.

Now awadays nikkas just pull out their phones and tweet about it

haha, it matters because it's a narrative his fans are pushing. Yes he took action seeing a brother getting jumped, but 2pac's fans like to tell people that "he shot 2 cops', KNOWING that the image in their minds would be he rolled up on 2 uniformed police officers and started blasting. NO, that's what Huey Newton did in 1967 and got away with it. That's what Eldridge Cleaver and Bobby Hutton did in '68. I think Pac should be praised for helping the brother in the situation, but telling the story without all of the facts to prop him up to this mythical being, when he didn't blast at the police for beating his ass in the street, is outright hilarious. And yes, when I first heard the story over 30 years ago in high school, I thought the same thing that you guys want others to believe. I thought he actually pulled up at a traffic stop and started blasting. So context matters. And not everybody just pull out a phone and watch black people get jumped. Do you not remember the riverboat incident just last year in Alabama?

The reality is, even though he didn't know they were cops, there's not many people opening fire on two CACs in that situation. The average person isn't doing that in a million years.

I agree and that accounts for 99% of this site. I don't carry a gun because I'm afraid of black people. I walk in any hood here in my city and nobody fukks with me because I don't fukk with anyone else. I have no enemies. I carry a gun because half of the crakkkas in my state are carrying guns. And I'd be a fool not to. The same people on this site riding for Pac in that situation(and I have never criticized him for that at all), are most of the same ones that will slap their mama for saying something bad about Eminem or another crackka they love. Can't have it both ways, If anyone isn't willing to defend themself against another crakka, police or not, then I'm not the one to be talking to.
