Was Jamie Foxx serious complaining about not getting a nomination for Django?

Overall it's hard for Black Actors to get nominated. The Academy has a horrible history when it comes to Blacks in cinema. I mean even now, A Black Director has never won Best Director. SMH.

False:

Denzel Washington Best Supporting Actor Win: Glory.

Well he was a freed Slave fighting in the military against the confederate but still. Also Haddie McDoniel won the 1st Black Oscar playing a maid and Octavia won one last year playing a Maid. Whoopie won one playing a Loud Mouth Psychic. Cuba won playing an arrogant loud athlete. Here is the full list of Oscar nominations for Black Artist. No Black Person as every won the Oscar for Original Screenplay and Director. Only 1 woman has won Best Actress that was Black. Only 4 Black men have won Best Actor (Sydney, Forrest, Denzel and Jamie Foxx):

Denzel wasnt a slave breh. No one owned that negro at any moment of Glory. Slaves dont get awards.

What exactly did Jamie say?

Also, as another poster pointed out, the movie was about slavery, the horrors, atrocities and suffering that went with it, both Jamie and Kerry embodied that mentality EXTREMELY well in the movie. To say that Jamie did "less" acting in embodying the psychological aspects of having to play the very thing he hates more than white people (Head nikkas) in that film, just because it wasn't "showy" is wrong. The scene where he allows the slave to be ripped apart by the dogs, just the slight look of agony masked with cold determination to continue his mission to save his wife, is extremely effective. Conveying that emotion WITHOUT speaking in the manner that he did was TRUE acting. In my opinion both Jamie and Samuel L. Jackson were awards nominated worthy in their performances (this is taking nothing away from Leo, whose deserving as well)

And what the fukk is the point of saying that Jamie already has an Oscar? He has an Oscar because he fukking DESERVED it when he won, does that disqualify him from EVER being worthy of another nomination? :what:

But instead Halle had to f*ck Billy Bob to win in a role Angela turned down cause of that scene, the irony. Denzel had to be a Dirty Cop. Monique had to be a dead beat mother. Forrest had to be a African Killer Psychopath. I mean most of the roles we win for we have to play terrible human beings.

Majority of acting Oscars go to people that play terrible human beings, severely flawed, have a disability or are a historical figure.

Going backwards:

Dujardin played an actor that loses everything.

Colin Firth played King George VI

Jeff Bridges played an alcoholic country singer

Sean Penn played a gay historical figure

Daniel Day Lewis was a villain

Forest Whitaker played an evil dictator

Phillip Seymour Hoffman played a gay historical figure

Jamie Foxx played a blind historical figure

Sean Penn played a criminal whose daughter was murdered and takes matters into his own hands

Adrien Brody played a historical figure that survived the Holocaust

Denzel played a bad cop

Crowe played a gladiator

Spacey played a man going through a middle aged crisis that was about to fukk an underaged girl

Benigni played a guy in the Holocaust

Nicholson played a racist, homophobic guy with OCD

Rush played a guy with severe mental problems

Cage played a alcoholic that drank himself to death

Hanks played a retard and a gay guy with HIV.

Do blacks get overlooked when it comes to awards. Yes. But the "Blacks have to play bad people to win awards" argument doesn't fly.

Look at the actress category and you'll see something similar.

The years after Halle, Nicole Kidman won for playing a historical figure and Theron played a serial killer. :heh:

You want to win an oscar play a historical figure, slave/holocaust, play out of type, i.e. Denzel in Training Day or Theron in Monster or play someone with a disability, but don't go full retard.

The problem with this list is Whites don't only get nominated for crazy roles. They also get nominated for uplifting and heroic roles. Blacks MOSTLY if always get nominated for crazy roles. Also just look at the numbers. There's only been 1 Black Actress and 4 Black Actors to win Best Actor/Actress. Your telling me only 1 Black woman's performance was good in the history of the Acedemy Awards and only 4 Black males, mind you 3 of those awards came in the last 10 years so that was recently. They have a horrible racist history the numbers prove. How did This man get a nomination when no other Black person was nominated that year? I mean really:

RDJ.jpg

Hollywood nominated a guy in Black Face but not a single Black man or Woman got a nomination that year.
