So do French soldiers and commanders in Mali are heroes and love Africans? The French president cares?

Think about what you're saying.

Che's goal was outright the destruction of capitalism, meh didn't give a fukk what he had to do or fight alongside.

French soldiers and commanders do what they are told....there is no thinking involved. Mali was a French Colony....why wouldn't the French President act like he cares. Che was a man who was about revolution...not Colonialism the French were known for. Your analogy is weak b.

Revolution? Sure.

But he only sought to replace one form of authoritative government with another, equally as repressive and violent.

Now, does the French President and government care about Mali?

the second quote he put is a actual che quote from one of his diary's during his first motorcycle trip when he drove along a coastal Afro Venezuelan slum, its in che biography , the full quote is this

thing is in Spanish the quote does not come off as racist, and it's not, he is making a observation about the people he saw there, which he happened to be black, the word he used to describe them a lot people translate it and use the word "lazy" with it, but a closer translation is "care free"

when you look at it that, way che was just making a comparison of two different sets of people

can you post the quote in spanish?

You haven't read either.

There is more.

This is why it irks me when my fellow black folks rep Che just because he is a "symbol" and don't even look at his beliefs, and realized he would not hesitate to stop their progress if given the chance.

@newarkhiphop

Create a Che thread. This is derailing a thread to be used for Hugo's death.

I will respond in that thread tonight @thekingsmen @geordie_dru and others. My apologies but I am on my phone and studying for an exam(should be studying) and my Che books are at home. I don't want to go off of memory.

el negro indolente y soñador, se gasta sus pesitos en cualquier frivolidad o en "pegar unos palos", el europeo tiene una tradición de trabajo y de ahorro que lo persigue hasta este rincón de América y lo impulsa a progresar, aun independientemente de sus propias aspiraciones individuales."

No need to make a Che thread...one was created on sohh a year ago that was based on the same one line qoutes and no real bases on anything.

I will be in here sparingly throughout the next few days. I have a lot of material on him. Once midterms are over I will respond more in depth and I will scan some passages.

thanks

to be clear, your defense of him rests on the word "indolente", right? i wanna find out native spanish speakers' gut reactions to this word

sounds racist tbf :yeshrug:

am a native Spanish speaker and yes its indolente that can have double meaning to me though it was not a racist line and "pegar un palos" is slang for having some drinks
