Was Dr. Dre really expecting Knocturnal to blow up off this song?

Real talk: why can't Dre get anyone's shyt out on Aftermath?

Other than Eminem and 50 almost everything has gotten shelved indefinitely. Busta got one album out that did decent numbers and he left/got dropped.

Knoc, Hittman, Rakim, Slim The Mobster, even Rae and Rakim. In some of these cases the claim has been that the material wasn't good enough, but Cuban Linx II was one of the best albums the last 5 years, got flawless reviews, and posted solid numbers even as an independent release. But Dre still shelved that shyt and Rae had to release it on his own :ld:

Dont forget bishop lamont, stat quo, joell ortiz, joe beast, brooklyn etc. Hell even game was about to be dropped before 50 came in.

Like bizzare once rapped "youll get dropped like an aftermath artist."

It actually pisses me off thinking about all the hundreds of songs dre is sitting on for no reason other than his own insecurity.

Yup. The King Tee album too. At least that one got an indy release. But to me that one is the perfect example. It wasn't a great album but it was solid, and probably would've hit 500K if it dropped in 2000 with Dre behind it. But it's like he's got this mindset that if an album isn't going to go multi platinum with 4 or 5 big singles it's not even worth releasing. In that case why even sign these dudes in the first place? He couldn't tell Rae and Rakim weren't going to make an album full of pop songs with crossover appeal when he signed them?

Rakim left because he said dre wanted him to rap about gangsta shyt and he wasnt down with it.

Bishop had the best grind it seemed. He released 3 street albums that were fire. Then he leaked grow up which was dope.

Still dont understand how stat quo didnt drop. Aftermath/shady release first southern rapper there he would have gone plat.

Funny enough soon as stat left he released like 5 street albums and two albums. Then he started talking about leaking his aftermath shyt then all of a sudden he was back with dre and not releasing shyt. Dre prob threw money at him just so he wouldnt leak shyt.

His two dear summer tracks detailing what happened behind the scenes were dope.

Knoc had legit talent but he had none of the drive. His drug and alcohol problems derailed what could have been a solid career.

thats cuz dre used them for his comeback abd stole sll the credit and limelight

pushed them out the way so the wouldnt outshine him

then he did it to focus and hitek

There's also the fact that Hittman was mediocre at best and would have bricked. Knoc was the one that was getting the guest appearances for hooks.
