with this, the song the op posted and bad intentions as singles i wondered what happend that he never blew up. then i saw that he was signed to elektra. if you're a rapper, and you're not getting signed by interscope or def jam, you might as well call it a day or go independent. how many rappers careers got ruined by signing to another major and either never seeing their albums released or watching the release getting completely mishandled? i mean, that shyt can happen to you on interscope and def jam as well, but on all other majors, that shyt is guaranteed

signing to Elektra back in the early 2000's wasn't a bad thing... Busta, Fab,Missy all had success on Elektra... and there was a solid R&B presence over there.

He never blew up, because he was drunk who did extremely reckless shyt when he was drunk.. he fukked up relationships with Ice Cube and Dr. Dre because of his drunken antics.

It also didn't help his release got lost with Elektra folding into Atlantic at the time, after the shyt leaked and he was forced to drop the original album as an EP. His initial roll out was a mess, then add to that his drunkeness and yeah it was a wrap. Still waiting for that Book Of Knoc album he was talking about a few years back.

Shoulda signed Mac Dre but he probably felt like the names were too similar, keep in mind Eminem didn't like doing songs like "Real Slim Shady", they would come by the end of the studio sessions but he stress about making the song that would follow-up "Hi My Name Is" . . Mac Dre would be right at home on those type of tracks
