Yeah by 97 the south had too many booming artist where we didnt really care what was coming out of NYC unless it was someone tier 1 like Nas.

I still remember hearing NORE on Project pats album like this dude sucks
yoooo he was so garbage on that joint and come to find out he recycled that verse from the joint he did with the hot boys which is why he kept saying all the hot boys phrases and shyt..."i got a humma that sitting on 22's"..."you my whodi ha"....tridash :mjlol:

Nore got a pass for a lot of wack music just because The War Report is a classic. He would tell you that himself.

Yep, the war report was guided by Tragedy, I don't know if he was writing the rhymes or what but nore never matched the lyrical gems he dropped in war report

He was never a great rapper technically but he seemed to be saying deep shyt in war report, but later on he was just babbling over some dope beats, imo

Btw I consider war report to be one of the greatest rap albums

There was a whole team spitting that shyt..criminal minded brothers!
Tragedy must have been the father to that shyt? Plus hearing nore spit on war report then listening to him during interviews it's clear as day trag was influencing the brother.

I can't recall. I was in the streets and didn't care about no Rap music and I was in Brownsville. I just heard MOP and other BK acts on the streets at the time.

Me being from the deep DEEP rural south?

Only 3 classic east coast albums I can remember being played by anybody in their rides were

OB4CL
Its Dark and Hell Is Hot
The War Report

This is incredible to me. Never imagined southern nikkas feeling OB4CL or the war report.

Everybody felt X when he dropped

Reasonable doubt was trash... pure revisionist history no one checkin for it... The infamous was an instant classic not sure what would make you call it small potatoes. Clearly it's not a pop crossover album. There are legends in every genre who don't hit 18 on the charts et alone number one.

Your crazy.

uh... I was getting mix tapes with stick you/illegal life in Detroit. It wasn't that underground... A huge album but clearly mobb deep clones. The irony of the way Nore tries to talk down to P.

how were they mobb deep clones?:why:

reasonable doubt was another classic street album on the east coast.

jay-z at his best.

:camby: I was running with Brooklyn dudes at the time who barely knew who jay was.... he was the dude who sampled Nas.

either youre telling ducktales or you were running with a couple of fakkits.

which one is it?

honestly how Nore got even bigger than he did after war report is nothing short of amazing

he changed the direction of his music.

and made the move at the perfect time.
