seems like a crazy question but are these movies underrated? why don't i feel like they aren't heralded as much as they should be?

People in this country voted in trump, don't get no dumber than that. And this is real life. :why:

My point is nobody who'd get to the level of genetically enhancing apes would be stupid enough steal a genetically altered chimp to raise it (and takes it out for a walk!) at the same time his father suffers from dementia. He does this for 3 years.

Yes, it is a crazy question because the movies are not underrated at all. The media was calling for Oscar nom for Andy Serkis and the two movies have made well over a billion and reviewed well.

I think you're underestimating being emotionally attached

I don't understand what his father having dementia has to do with your complaint.

What does that matter and how does that make it dumb?

fair enough, but will they ever be mentioned among the great movies of this generation? i feel like they're gonna be forgotton. not sure why, but i do. they're probably gonna end up being the best trilogy since... i don't even know. i'm pretty confident i'll like em more than the Nolan Batman series when all is said and done

Yeah plus he saw what happened to Cesar's mother so it really drove his character to take Cesar in and give him a home.

If this third one is a hit critically and commercially it'll get it's just due IMO because to you can see Cesar's progression from Rise all the way to War.

Highly underrated

even though the second one was a blockbuster, agreed.

in an era when bad movies (looking at you, BvS) have done incredibly well at the box office. an era when george miller is worshipped for making a movie about a two-hour u-turn (and i fukking love mad max). the first two films of this trilogy are definitely underrated.
