Everybody does it.

Once artists reach a certain level of success. They're not spending the majority of their time in a dark studio detached from the world.

You get to a certain level and you have tours, interviews, tv appearances, magazine shoots, business dealings, meetings, sponsorship obligations, movies, side businesses, all kinda stuff.

You think someone like Jay-Z spends his days sitting in a studio somewhere writing rhymes? Dude was sitting at the table doing business with russian billionaires.

That's just how it goes.

Drake is a popstar dog. The quicker you stans understand this, the better this will be for everyone.
Unless you really wanna step up to the podium and tell me Drake had bigger songs in the streets in 2010 n 2011 than these bad boys

Lemme guess nikkas on ya block was bumping Find you love and Marvin's room eh? :mjpls:

No but Fancy, Over, HYFR, Headlines, Crew Love and The Motto were as big in the hood as those songs if not bigger in '10 and '11...

Meek actually came from Hip hop...the other dude did not.
Meek from the hood....the other dude is not...
Meek was on DVDs battling...the other dude was on a white teen canada tv show
Meek was in Jail...the other dude was living a nice white life in a nice white country with no cares in the world.

why the fukk is the other dude even here?

Unfortunately because Hip Hop (entertainment in general) is 98% produced & generated. The ghost writer with the pen has 10x the skills of the head that is using it. Problem is once the media latches on they take it wherever they want to go. If they want you to be a mega super star it happens... (Michael Jackson) if they want to run you into the ground it happens (Michael Jackson) its all about that $$$. That is why even though Meek is 100% correct he will lose this easily... Drake produces a lot more money for a lot more people then Meek does and in the end, thats all that matters.

Meek was about to go off on Hot97 and held back,,, that alone can be career suicide.

Girls live in the hood, bro. Those songs were big because hoes liked them, and hoes like whatever they're told to like. If it was another nikka doing another song at that place in time, they would like that song and that nikka because those items are there for them to consume. Stop giving credit to holograms, soft boy. You relate to fukkboy shyt

Go back to my original statement. I clearly stated that Drake is up now. But he wasnt up back in 2010,2011 as far as the block was concerned. That music was for the chicks, the burbs and the blogsosphere

This entire post was way too long. It's a shame cuz there was all kinds of knowledge being dropped in it.

One you should cherry pick some posts and put them into more readable format.

These ADHD kids need teaching.

perfect thread for it to be in.
plus, the length.....
length is totally subjective and in this instance.
they get the full on real as to this situation and where how it went into disarray culturally/commercially/economically.

so, when nikkaz say there was no one giving them the keys and facts to the culture.
i can say,...

YOUSA MOTHERfukk'N LIE!!
i gave the whole history of how rnb collabs were made and given a pass system.
to even be acceptable to commercial rap consumers.
i am not condensing nuffin.

hiphop is about finding the social keys and answers.
if you not gon dig in a crate or learn what you come from.
you not apart of hiphop, period.

my posts are always for bboys/bgirls looking to hone and focus themselves on the culture.
it isn't meant for toys.
i don't cater to toys and i don't give them any leeway to do shyt.

Rappers do have primes you clown

And skills are not just rapping but picking the right beats and saying shyt that people want to hear

You think 2003 TI and 2015 TI is the same rapper?

T.I. is still killin' shyt in 2015 with the same calibur he had in 03, it's just his star has faded. T.I. is still lyrically on point and his style and demeanor are exactly the same.

We know this. WE are the fans...so we should be the ones ignoring fukk shyt and sliding over to the real shyt. Girls like songs because they sound good and they're catchy...not men. That mentality is for kids and broads. Feel good music is on the R&B station..and the pop station. It's time to separate.

The idea that Drake doesn't write his raps is ridiculous to me. I'm sure he has a gang of nikkas in the studio with him bouncing ideas and maybe adding lines here and there, but newsflash, EVERY RAPPER DOES THAT. You think any of these dudes are sitting alone in their bedroom writing all their songs in a notebook? The only dude that does that is MAYBE Eminem's old hermit ass, but that's about it.

Drake is immune to taking L's anyway, dude publicly simps for female singers in his songs, gets exposed trying to slide into the DM's of IG thots, is constantly made fun of on social media for his simping, catches the beats from Puffy and all the while his brand hasn't been affected in the slightest. People are gonna act like Drake is a fraud and then as soon as he drops his next project ya'll will flock to listen to it.

reminds me of this tweet

:heh:
