Because most American's aren't smart enough to realize that what ever money they think they are saving when buying these items does not compare to the local/state taxes they are paying on the account of Walmart paying corrupt politicians for 25 year tax abatements and benefits meant for small commercial properties and businesses.

I'm talking about all the full time Walmart employees getting medicaid and foodstamps because of their low wages. Not to mention the tax subsidies they get from local governments which they gladly take and then move the store to the next town over when the subsidies end; but only after completely wrecking all the mom and pop shops in that town.

We're having a conversation, friend. Sorry i dont have time to just go look up some statistics just to share a simple thought. I think Walmart proves how important location is and its existence really makes merchants have to adhere to the rules of the merchant culture. When the Big Boys come into town and set up shop near your consumer base, resistance is futile. You will have your loyal customers and customers who need specialty items or items that may be out of stock with the big boys but for the most part, they can hurt your business. It really depends on what you're selling and Walmart may require you to do as merchants have done for centuries and Move when competition is to heavy. Obviously when you establish roots in a particular area, history and time can make a friend resist the writing on the wall, friend.
