Wale should’ve called his album certified lover boy. He doing these soulful chick tracks better than Drake never thought I’d see the day. The album is probably his best front to back. Very impressed with this one way better than his last two efforts.

These two tracks could get any human being in their feelings. Wale like the LL of his era. Just not a sex symbol in the same vein. He’s the quintessential HBCU rapper ironically repping the DMV heavy. A decade deep still putting out top tier music. Did it all without a Drake feature. A song between the two about relationships wrongs would be fire.

To me, Cole has only 2 good retail albums. But white people have bought into him. And he doesn’t overshare on social media. Wale is much more clever lyrically. Cole has too many cringy lines. “I’m the shyt you can’t out fart me”? That dollar and a dream tour doing shows for a buck did wonders for him I think

Truthfully speaking, he kinda sold out his artistic integrity with his MMG run. The association with Ross ironically gave him his greatest successes but furthered the deviation in the kind of rapper he was leaving his lane.
Soon as Ross slowed down individually it was a wrap for Wale. He was dependent on how popping MMG was as a Brand. I don't know if it was the Interscope branding but Wale was a certified backpacker at one point. If you ask a random they're favorite Wale song is they couldn't tell you (I'd say his verse on Rising Up).

and clever lyrically dont mean shyt, Cole is the better overall rapper and artist having made more enjoyable albums does he have some bad ones? yep, but so does Wale . Plus lyrically, cole has stepped up and is better than Wale now. better rhymer, better at punchlines, just as good at the metpahors/wordplay to.
