:

Ancient Egyptians have an approximate 90% genetic commonality with modern Egyptians.

No one's saying that there weren't black people in Egypt or that they weren't a majority at one point or another, or that there wasn't black nobility, blah blah blah blah blah blah. But saying ancient Egyptian = black is

wow slow down, first of all 90% of modern egyptians are arab, the only people that in theory could have any connection with ancient egypt are the dark skinned egyptians in the south or the copts minority

there is no real genetic connection with ancient egyptians in modern egypt, and even the dna studies that have been done are controversial

Ancient DNA: Curse of the Pharaoh's DNA : Nature News

and again people need to grasp the fact that egypt was founded 5000 years ago

I was wondering how long it would take for the fire brigade to get here

Non-exclusivity doesn’t make a concept wrong for a person or group; Neither does the negative actions of people who aren’t part of that group, who holding similar beliefs.

There’s no one on here other than the OP that didn’t know that Arabs enslaved our ancestors….......... But there are many of you on here pretending not to know that everyone on Earth enslaved people for most of history and it was First the Muslims that promoted freeing slaves and made slavery something that wasn’t righteous to do.

Cultural practices and greed can only predominate Religion in the motivations of humans, but it can’t diminish the reality of that religion.

Then again.... this is the same group of people debating on IF the Ancient Egyptians were black or not. :scusthov:

Muslims were not the first people to promote freeing slaves. I don't know where you're getting that from. Furthermore, Islam does not prohibit slavery in any way- instead, it endorses slavery as an institution, even if it makes some mild reforms here and there, and even those mild reforms were just repeating ancient Greek slavery regulations. As for the thread, it's about Arabs. Yes, the majority of them were Muslims, but the point is about Arab slavery, so no need to interpret it as an attack on Islam.

Arab slavery is second only to European slavery, so don't try and come with some "everybody did it" excuse. No other non-European form of slavery contributed more to modern-day white supremacy. You saw the quotes earlier in this thread describing Black people as dumb beasts. Arabs were saying those things before white people, and that's part of the reason white people continue to say those things today.

not defending Arabs and the actions of those people. And people take the threads as attacks on Islam because the word Muslim is emphasized when speaking on the subject... not to mention the anti-religious converse fallacy type of comments.

oh yeah... the "everyone did it" isn't an excuse... I'm not arab.. I'm just sayin, I also am not going to pretend like Africans didn't do it and everyone didn't do it simply to call a group out so that I can link it back to a concept I don't like.

No need to bring up Bilal or anyone else... but I would suggest reading about the subject and seeing how the early Muslims were perceived and received for the mere suggestions of freeing slaves and accepting anyone regardless of race into their religion.

Then you can read about how most of the rest of the world, including the rest of Arabia felt about it and see how they may not have been the very first in history- but at the very least they were close to the first group to prohibit the sale of free people.

i dont see how any of that would change the basic facts presented of genocide against black people committed by arabs

and it wouldnt change the fact that the slavery still exists in the arab world today and that the british empire had to force the arabs to end slavery during the 19th and 20th century

the idea that islam represented a better form of slavery is false

this is a picture taken by the british after they captured an arab slave ship

:leostare: O K.. like i said.. only the op didn't know about arab slavery. Many of them still think black is inferior. I was only questioning why Islam was introduced as an efficacious fact in the picture you all were trying to paint about Arab slavery. If aliens came to Earth and enslaved my people I wouldn't care what religion they were.

The slave practice superseded Islam retard. Islam is the reason Arabs were releasing slaves and was at least the catalyst for some of the better Ideas on freedom in Arabia, then the world. Slavery continued after Islam only due to greed and culture.. But every reader can see that the Q isn't a slavery promoting book.

How do you figure? The Quran does things like suggest that slaves should be treated kindly. A statement like that endorses slavery. It takes slavery for granted as an institution, then suggests some ethical guidelines within it. It doesn't say "slavery is wrong. No one should own slaves."
