What if we are though, there have been millions of species that have existed on this planet and the Dinosaurs ruled for hundreds of millions of years, yet nothing has evolved to the point we're at. You look at the animal that is widely regarded as the second most intelligent species on this planet and the pinnacle of their society is using sticks to fish ants/termites out of their holes. The technology comparison is dumb. Dolphins are smart in different ways, they as you know are more knowledgeable (or are prepared with better tools) in aspects in which humans are not. But I agree, that none of these other animals are close to us in intellectual flexing. The technology thing is like saying certain Snakes are smarter than humans because they can sense heat behind objects without a machine that a human would be required to use.

I hope that if we met an advanced species that was friendly, it would have a positive effect on us all. Give us some humility and perspective, and hopefully not try and fukk each other over and hate each other so much.
