I'd say we aren't because humans haven't been around for that long. This planet by itself has been around much longer than humans have, millions of years in fact, and this universe has been around even longer than this planet. So yeah we might be more advanced then SOME species out there, but I'd bet there are some a lot more advanced then us, because they've probably been around much longer.
