I think it's seen as sightly different for the father coming from a primal standpoint. The leader of the pride of lions kicks his sons out when they become a certain age so that they don't overthrow him. But sometimes they still comeback and that's exactly what happens. As a son you're seen as your father's clone/equal, his representative to the world.

When i was 16 i thought i was a big man, and attempted to cuss on my mom. She was going off on me, you know how it goes. I remember saying three words "Mom your bogus"... After that I was homeless for a week, the first couple nights i slept on a slide then went to my grandma's spot. Lord knows how my granny had to beg her to take me back in.

Now that i'm older we laugh about it, but Caribbean Parents don't play with those type of things
