In order for a babyface Rome to win the crowd over vs John, he has to distance himself as far away from Cena like antics as possible.

If they book Cena as a heel right there's no way Reigns gets booed for Cena. Smarks have hated Reigns for like a year and a half, they've hated Cena for 10. If it's tater tots Reigns vs cussing rapping heel Cena, sure, he might get booed. If it's a more subtle, but clearly heel, Cena who aligns with the authority and says he shouldn't get pushed out of his spot, look at all he does for the kids, etc while accepting a bunch of help/favorable treatment from HHH/Steph it'll get over brother. That's actually the best way to give Roman a huge match while getting him over; face a heel Cena.

So long as they don't change the things about Cena that people hate when turning him heel, which they might do if it happens.

They ain't pullin' the trigger on Roman/HHH for the Rumble. The Rumble itself is more often than not the main event of that show... it'd be a rush to throw that match on there- that's probably the Reigns/Sheamus wrap-up match. The whole Reigns vs the Authority storyline will still go on, and Reigns/HHH LIKELY happens at Mania, cause I doubt H is doing his once-in-a-while match at a transitional PPV. Reigns/Lesnar can happen too of course. Reigns/Cena happens probably at SummerSlam. During the summer, Reigns has (possibly) Rollins, and maybe an opponent that steps out of the midcard (Owens?).

Cena probably wins the belt at Slam...
