Superstar
I think he actually purchased a Starbucks if I'm not mistaken.
you gotta be real weak to be addicted to ANYTHING.
Could be worse, he's kicked his addiction and he sounds like a happy man, good for him
Baker has the same job as my brother's classmate who dropped out senior year.
There ain't shyt rewarding about working at Starbucks![]()
I think he actually purchased a Starbucks if I'm not mistaken.
Right? Can you imagine the amount of crackhead shyt these ppl have seen Vin do.You want the CEO to be like "let's see - you have a degree from academic powerhouse University of Hartford, where I'm sure you took the most rigorous courses; you've struggled with alcoholism for 15 years; you've mismanaged millions of dollars... will you join my team of executives?" If you can't manage your life, your money, or your drinking, how can you even manage a coffee shop?
All that said, I hate that dude's dysfunction is on front street. Plenty of people struggle with addiction and financial ruin but get good jobs via connections and it all gets swept under the rug. I hope Vin at least owns a house out in R.I. - if so, his quality of life is aight.
Breh the first time he makes that frappe mix with low fat milk instead of skim he's gonna get a frappe to the face:wowwow2:
Maybe he will be addicted to frappucinos instead?
For real though, customer service jobs are mad annoying/stressful especially them entitled Starbucks customers ()
Hope he doesn't fall off the wagon![]()
I just googled that, always wondered.Don't NBA Players Have A Pension?
How the fukk do you know the CEO and be an all star NBA player. But get a job in a store instead of corporate![]()
The guy seems genuinely happy about being able to wake up everyday and work everyday..
Having a lot of money is not the end all be all..

that owner probably lost money on Vin, and he was an alcoholic, not taking his job seriously at the time
he really didnt owe him a damn thing, why the fukk should he have been 'salaried' and taken care of like that?
and it would make no sense for him to hand him a corporate job, that hes done absolutely nothing to earn (or be qualified for)
he set him up where he can learn the business, grow skills to become a manager, and then build from them
that is much more rewarding (and sensible) than putting him in some 'cushy' role that he has no business having
the last thing Vin seems to need (OR want) is a handout
the article CLEARLY inferred he was being fast tracked for a manager and you just made the whole 'part time' thing up outta thin air, when logic is slapping you in the face saying he has a full time gig (and yes, Starbucks provides great full time benefits)
What the hell is he going to offer corporate if they try to plug him in right away?
You start at the ground up, learn how the stores are run, connect with people, learn managerial skills and he can be running his own store soon enough.
He'll have full benefits, a livable wage, and he can jump into different opportunities down the line using this experience or grow within the company.
