Yeah, he bricked a few bunnies and chucked a bunch of 3s. Looked unconfident and uncomfortable at times.

But its his very first NBA game.

Plus he's been playing ball on a different sized court, with a different ball. Give him a few games to adjust.

I liked the lil mean streak I saw when he got pissed off and blocked dude's shot.

That fight will serve him well.

The hype machine is at redline, so the over-reaction was predictable.

It looked like he was falling down every time I looked at the screen.

I don’t expect him to be great now, but was atleast hoping he would be entertaining. Nothing about his game aesthetically pleasing to watch.
He got out on break and pushed the tempo for an easy transition assist. He has some strength and do some good things tonight. Y’all trying to will this thread to fruition :russ:

Takes me back to Yao draft summer:wow:

What’s so hard to understand? I said he’s further along than Giannis but that doesn’t mean he’ll be on Giannis level unless you think progress is linear which it isn’t. Wemby has been playing basketball a lot longer than Giannis was at the same age. But I don’t see Wemby being the dominant presence that people think he will be. I think he will be dominant in the same extent that Giannis is, maybe a little less but Giannis right now isnt without fault and he’s not Lebron like generational

He’s right as far as when they both came into the league

On paper Vic is way more advance than Giannis was entering the league

The point is if being ‘further ahead than Giannis’ doesn’t even equate to being a ‘worldwide prospect’ why even bring it up? It must be pointless. Emoni Bates is further ahead than Giannis at this age. Means nothing

No excuses. Luka came in day 1 and started wrecking shyt

People forget Wemby played in a league that’s barely better than AAU ball

Luka played in the 2nd best league in the world only behind the nba

Wemby has bust written all over him

It's crazy that people were entertaining the idea he's as good or better of a prospect than LeBron. I think people forgot how good of a prospect AD was, and I would be shocked if Victor even comes close to AD's production

Woj needs his MVP vote & credentials taken talking about he’s the best prospect in American sports history

I’m going to save any overreactions until the end of summer league.

A few things:

He has to gain serious muscle. This simply isn’t going to work and teams can’t wait to bully him.

The jump in competition level must be absolutely staggering for him. His prior French team didn’t even compete at the highest level in Europe. I don’t know if he’ll be a bust but the media hype was always disproportionate from the get-go.

Luka by comparison was a prodigy / sensation at the Euroleague level.
