Samsung can stop producing the parts whenever their contract is up...but they won't. That part of the company is so far removed from the phone side. they might as well be a different company..

So then, according to you, some had the right to patent the concept of higher programming languages, and forced others to work solely with Assembly?

Right to? Yes they could try. I don't think it would work( look at the Oracle vs Google case ) and would certainly kill the language from growing and I don't agree with it.

I think y'all misunderstand me, 90% of the time I'm against the patent system. I just so happen to agree with Apple on this case. Samsung just needs to go back to the drawing board or agree to a license deal like HTC. They weren't trying to innovate, they were trying to confuse consumers. Matter of fact, today somebody had the Samsung G3 and a co-worker came up to him asking if that was the white iPhone

In cases like this, I don't think the system hurt consumers, if anything it'll force Samsung to come up with something new.

Now where I do hate the system is in cases like John Carmack reverse alogrithm( John Carmack codes around patent to release Doom 3 source | The Verge )

Just like Microsoft gaming division might as well be a different company compared to Office suite division. They just happen to be under the same name.

Do you think the division that handles CPU's( the guys in the white suits LOL ) have anything to do with the screen division?


but all that is besides the point, Samsung will not drop Apple as a customer. So I don't see the point in bringing that up.

Y'all know what's funny 15 or so outdated Samsung phones will have their software updated to avoid a sales ban and Samsung will pay 1 billion to apple in fines but this will be after years of appeals(verdict complete bs ). Meanwhile samsung made 5 billion in profits during apr-jun and The galaxy s3 wasn't included in this nor the nexus or note and all other future phones this will likely not have as much effect on Samsung going forward as ifanboys think.
