As long as those sneakers have resell value, then Nike don't give a damn.

you're living in 2010 breh. major brands like nike 100% care about these types of decisions in 2021. look at some of the other moves they've made in the last 12 months. either they're smart and they already care. or they're stupid, they do something stupid that their audience calls them out on, and then they're forced to tell people they care while they figure out how to recover credibility.

these companies may not have all figured out how to navigate the sensitivities and cultural impact tied to brand voice/perception. but they understand it can have lasting consequences if they get it wrong.

You must not know how the resell culture works these days :mjlol:

These companies don't give a damn as long as the sneaker is selling. If it's money to be made off a sneaker or product, then best believe resellers are going to find a way to get their hands on it. Go on Ebay and look at the prices for those Lil Nas X sneakers if you don't believe me.

People have been complaining about Nike's way of operations and the selling of sneakers for years yet their products still sell out in minutes. Check on Twitter for people's reaction when they take L's on the SNKRS app.

Depending on the stipulations of the original contract, then they may have the right to continue production at some point on older Kobe sneakers in the future, but not produce newer versions of them.
Nike can do whatever with the silhouette but Kobe or anything related to him won’t be apart of it.
Kobe shoes have too many details of him to make a shoe without those details.

resale gon be crazy for Kobe’s but Nike won’t see a dime of it.

Totally agree with you. I'm just saying that Nike nor resellers care about potential controversy or pushback as long as there's money to be made on his products unfortunately.

That's why I mentioned previously when Nike initially took his product off the sites because of reselling, yet brought them back months later without doing any to quell the issue of the reselling of his products in the first place. All they legit did was moved it to the LEO or Draw to make it seem like they solved the problem instead of just increasing supply to meet demand.

Please explain how Nike profits off of reselling? :beli:

no offense, but i dont think you understand.

you're saying "these companies" as if nike's brand would fall in the group of companies that don't care.

ebay doesn't care. they don't have to care. they're just the messenger. and yes, i'm sure if some sneakers were dropped, these resell sites that act as messengers for the hypebeasts would post them. ebay's brand is not built on cultural credibility. it's built on making hard to find product available.

nike 100% cares.

i'm sure there are a list of drops that were already in production as part of kobe's final deal. beyond that, nike wouldn't dare touch that line without sitting back down at the table with vanessa. they'd get crucified. you don't sign colin kaepernick, and then release a dead man's footwear line without his estate's consent less than a year later.

10-15 years from now? maybe they'd try. but no time soon.

Look up the term "reselling" and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

That's why exactly I said they could potentially (depending on the contract stipulations) rerelease older products in the future. Not that they would do it while the block is hot.

I can promise you if they release any stock they have leftover right now to get rid of inventory, then that shyt is selling out in seconds.

Fixed....cacs been in the game for a while.....
I'll give you that. But back in the 90's abd early 00's I would never see white folks rocking J's or Air Force 1's like I see now. That's some new shyt, and they the ones in the news with the monster reseller inventory too. They gonna eat some of this blame too.

thank you. the idiots/companies who don't care, and don't have to care, are not the same as the retailer who makes the product. that's part of the reason vanessa/kobe were upset with the current product numbers to begin with. the current model empowers the hypebeasts.

lol. imagine nike releasing the mamba line without kobe's branding any time soon. :russ::deadmanny:

The shoes in question dont have a problem getting sold

A lot of sneakers weren't flying off the shelves before he passed away and you could have easily found them in outlet stores at a discount. Unfortunately, his untimely passing increased the demand for his products. Mainly for profit as they are reselling for big money on sneaker websites.

Now they don't have a problem of being sold, but previously they did.

you clearly don't understand the difference between resellers and retailers. much success to you though.
