Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
anyone who has the UK original in their memory - did the RB character use guns? didn't he have a different weapon of choice? like an Anton Chigurh type thing or something?

I didn't mind the actor in the American version, but - and i'm probably wrong - i feel like him just firing off silencer shots into everyone fukked with a lot of the subtlty of the original. i find guns to be the laziest fukkin thing you can add to any story. i know it's logical that most characters WOULD use guns, but it just always feels like the easiest, lamest choice - "Ehh, i don't know, he shoots people, who fukkin cares, let's move on."

Also, stand by my theory that 9 out of 10 movies that feature a gun on the poster fukkin suck. maybe i'm just too much of an anti-gun p*ssy lib...
The OG they all used guns too... I'm not sure what y'all was expecting or what y'all watched... They LOWERED the violence in this trash remake

The show was entertaining to watch, but it felt hollow like the original poster said, like a shell, no so really in the storytelling like the UK version. It was mostly the American violence without substance

Plus the UK's Jessica Hyde looked better and was more captivating

Very entertaining. My main and maybe only gripe (but it's a big one that keeps it out of being rated that highly) is that it only always felt like a tv show. I never felt like I was trapped in the moment like I was watching real life play out.

But its also possible that the director didnt take himself to seriously and an entertaining tv show is exactly what he was shooting for.

I'm two episodes deep, and this shyt is flames. I didn't know there was a UK version until last night. I know it's probably better, because the British do TV wayyy better than Americans, especially with these types of shows. I wanna start watching the UK version, but I lowkey don't want to ruin how much I'm enjoying the American version so far.

Does the British version have the same conspiracy theory elements and commonalities with what's going on in the world? That's my type of shyt. If so, I might start watching it ASAP.

I don't mind violence but just random killing of innocent people gets me. Got through episode 2 and I'm done. The 'hero' is shooting folks in the dome for no reason? I'm out

I hate gratuitous violence, too, but
that cac bytch had it coming. :yeshrug:

Breh Waaaaaaaay better. I got like an ep and a half in and there’s mad fluff and unnecessary stuffy that’s in the US version.

The British version I peeped during the height of the Ebola Outbreak and everything was spot on. Almost to the point of being in sync with down to the minute updates on the real life news. Straight :lupe:/:ohhh:

I’d only assume those parallels are still present and may be more prevalent in our current situation.

Also it had two seasons. Idk if this joint will.

I'm like ten minutes into episode three, and yea Jessica is getting annoying now :russ:

I also am agreeing more and more about the useless fluff and unneccesary gore. I'm finishing this season, because my girl wants to, but I already know I'm gonna enjoy the UK version more. I see that it's available for purchase on Prime Video, is there any free way to watch it? I might just end up buying it.

EDIT: The cac dude in the group is wild annoying, too... even more than Jessica.

Anybody know where I can watch the UK version online? I never heard of the show until I watched the US version on prime.

:ufdup:easy breh. British shows have interesting concepts and start off strong but they always fukk it up towards the end and can't compete with American television.
