I do hate being wrong, but the key to being wrong as little as possible is to realize when you're wrong as quickly as possible and then switch to being right. If you do that faithfully, you'll be wrong less and less over time. If you just pick up your ball and run home every time your precepts are challenged, then you just stay where you are.
