look at boxing. cuba etc took it up a level with the coaching and the US lost their grip, all those ancient husky-voiced coaches across america who thought they had the best techniques in the world were shown up for what they are. medicore coasters who were never truely world class at what they do, and who now cannot produce a heavyweight champion out of 300 million to save their lives.

in soccer you can tell by about 13 if somebodies got a real shot at going pro because the technical abilities required are so high.

if there are guys at college age you are still umming and ahhing about for nfl then its shows it doesnt really require too much skill. you just catch the ball and run afterall. im convinced if the rest of the world played this game you would be seeing tactical innovation that would leave you for dead.... while america would be stuck playing charge and run ball from the 70s
