No Whammies!!
The alien religion thing made me think about the fact that the show is a metaphor for historical Colonialism. The different Blocks are basically Indian reservations, that's why the "Resistance" leader was called Geronimo. Now the native Earth religions are getting replaced by some kind of alien-worshipping religion.

Somewhere out in space there must be a Galactic Empire playing a giant game of "Civilization".

:ohhh: this show could be an alternate timeline like fallen skies in this the human's surrendered. in fallen skies they did not... funny how it all went down.

Did we see a flash of them wearing some kind of "clean room" suits at the end? Maybe they're literally working at the factory building those drones.

Looks like I was kind of right about the "factory". Also, even up on the moon, the prison guards were still all humans. Though the previews implied that we might see something "alien" before the season ends.

I keep waiting for Carl Weathers to say "I'm getting too old for this shyt!"

The factory reveal was :ohhh:

I thought for sure Will was going to let Katie know he knew her secret, but he gave her the :francis: for most of the episode. Her Cell is losing members left and right too.

I'm guessing some kind of alien tech, possibly the droids like mentioned before or something more sinister :demonic:

I think the dude just happened to be British, but I would imagine there would be pockets of cells all over the world.

Maybe with the head boss, we finally get a glimpse of with the invaders look like.

Looks like that was an alien in a spacesuit on the subway. If they have to wear spacesuits to survive on Earth, that might not be a good sign for humanity. If they're here for real estate rather than for resources, then they might want to "terraform" the planet to their alien atmosphere.

That might also tie into what's going on in The Factory.

The stuff with Will/Katie continues to be the strong suit of the show. Glad he let her know she was keeping secrets and the conversation they had outside towards the end was :whew:. If they can pull together the other elements of the show and make it as dynamic, that would be good. Hopefully with the season finale next week, they set up a good cliff-hanger.

After thinking about it, I don't really think they're going that way. I still think they're playing up the analogy to real colonialism and the treatment of Native Americans. Why convert the humans on the "reservation" to the alien-worshipping religion if you're just going to kill them all off?

If the dead alien was the same person as the official coming to give Proxy Snyder his performance review, that means that they have a lot more direct political control than I thought. I used to think they just let the humans oppress the people for them, then showed up every now and then to demand whatever resources they are looking for.

I thought the finale could have went out with a bigger cliffhanger.

The little glimpse of the alien wasn't really much and the Resistance didn't get any intel before they had to bounce.

The opening with Charlie was cool and nice to see Snyder stick to his word. It will be interesting to see what happens with the new boss and how the next season develops, hopefully they ramp up the intensity and delve more into what the aliens are up to.

The show is coming back in January. I'm excited to see where they take it. Is the son going to the farm? I bet Snyder is dead. What's going to happen to the daughter in the green zone. Charlie of course, and did his partner make it out? Yeah, seeing the aliens point of view would definitely ramp this show up.

There is definitely the potential there for the 2nd season to make a leap in quality, now that they have the world set up and some of the characters established.
