But on a serious note, its a double edged sword for the US. Everyone looks to us for protection and we are kind of the world police but at the same time protecting one side will always infuriate the other side leading to turmoil down the road. Its a no-win situation.

NATO and the majority of Europe get their defense from the US. Specifically against Russian aggressions but to a lesser extent any type of threat from outside of the region.

Russia ain't attacking their clients anytime soon, that's old Cold War rhetoric. And I doubt anyone would attack the UK or France, who still have nukes...do you think European countries don't have armies?

They aren't placing missile defense systems in Poland for no reason.

The UK's imperialistic past leaves it prone to violence for a long time.

Just because a threat is not current doesn't mean a threat cannot arise.

I voted for him in the Democratic primary. I didn't vote for him in either election though. Also made $200 betting on him when he was a longshot vs Hillary.

Interesting that you took that example, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that deal was done outside of NATO and the EU, since most European countries (as well as the Polish population) opposed the whole idea?
