important to whom?

shouldn't tax dollars benefit the taxpayers instead of being spent fighting Russia using Ukraine as a proxy?

:patrice:

1. This money isn't for "fighting" Its to help Ukraine handle the rising gas prices they'll face from GazProm (the russian state oil/gas company)

2. tax dollars are for the government. not all of it goes to citizens. It just doesn't. You've gotta stop thinking this way.

Are you joking? How is Detroit not more important the fukking Ukraine?
...because its not? :heh:

Its a US city with a severe and profound history of failure.

AND because two things don't have to be in opposition to each other.

Its important for the USA to both support Ukraine AND (possibly) Detroit...but Detroits money problems have nothing to do with the federal government.

Is this a joke? I like periodically in Detroit. Why do you think I give a fukk about the oil prices Ukranians pay? What does that have to do with me?

People elect government and pay taxes under the mandate the government will use those taxes to provide services, not give that money away to foreigners. Do you think nikkas vote to have the government give Ukraine money over Detroit? :wtf:

So Ukraine is more important to the US than Detroit? :dwillhuh: Can u explain how this makes sense?

Well ask OP. He seems to think such a comparison was even worthy.

I'm saying that funding this initiative for the Ukraine IS important.

However, when it comes to Detroit, it seems to me that they've crossed lines theyve set for themselves time and time again.

I tend to lean liberal but that doesn't mean I support an infinitely long patience either.

The existential stability of Europe affects everything.

Ukraine is the worlds largest producer of grain and nearly 40% of the gas/oil in Europe passes through Ukraine.

Stop thinking that the world ends on your block.

False.

The government, as any serious government should, is heavily involved with its international standing and as such does what it can to influence its policies and viewpoints across the world.

The US doesn't have international power for no reason.

@Napolean logic is let all the cities in the U.S. fail and rot but please help the Ukraine Corrupt Gov't who support Neo-Nazi, brehs.
Strawman.

Detroit can fail at this point IMO.

Its been close to 30 years of the same doom and gloom with no vision or recourse from even its own citizens.

We're nto obligated to sustain cities merely because they were once previously great places.

Trends happen. Detroit was great, but its time to let go.
