At the hypocrisy in this thread. These nikkas seemed to forget Obama has been criticized for years for talking down to black people (Pookie & Ray Ray would like a word) but now this nikka is the problem?

Nikkas in this thread are so full of shyt.
:picard: Y'all wasn't lying that Obama was out here calling nikkas "Pookie & Ray-Ray":

Getting sick and tired of people falling for this distraction okie doke every time. :snoop:
These grifters give you a narrative and an out-of-context clip and you go to town for them without processing it for yourselves.

The way he tried to be relatable at the end may have been corny, I admit. But NOTHING ELSE was wrong with what he said.
The way this man's message was misconstrued is absurd. He was obviously talking about how African American, Latino, and Native American communities are being disproportionally affected by COVID-19 and what we can do with our limited resources to mitigate the risks. You can wash your hands, social distance, and avoid drugs, smoking, and alcohol because these things can increase your chances of getting this shyt by spreading the virus, reducing lung capacity, and reducing immune response:

Q&A on smoking and COVID-19
Resist Using Pot, Alcohol to Ease Fears During COVID-19 Outbreak

The surgeon general is a man, mind you, who recently released a 700 page report on eradicating smoking. The issue is personal for him because both of his grandfathers died from smoking related complications:

Yo this what this mofo sounds like? :russ:

He is got a lisp and sounds zesty? :dahell: How is that even possible?
He has the most nonthreatening voice ever.
Is this what we have to sound like to get ahead brehs? :mjcry:

Never watched his videos because I just knew this goof was way over his head.

More misdirection. FOH! These stats have nothing to do with my comment. Neither I nor the surgeon general stated that black people drink/do drugs more than white people. Study after study has indicated that white people use drugs and alcohol at the same or higher rates than black people.

The fact remains that he was talking specifically about communities that were overrepresented in COVID-19 deaths and what they could do to mitigate the risks.
The fact remains that practicing social distancing mitigates the risk.
The fact remains that washing your hands mitigates the risk.
The fact remains that abstaining from drugs/tobacco/alcohol mitigates the risk.
Would you prefer the surgeon general to NOT share what mitigates the risk when we are the most at risk? :mindblown:

WHAT IN THE fukk DOES THIS HAVE TO DO ABOUT WHITE PEOPLE!?!

I do not understand how advising people who are disproportionately effected by COVID-19 to avoid behavior which may place them at even greater risk is c00ning.

Amazing how the tune changes when it's time to chastise tho. Health issues in our community was here before Covid and when we needed "help", especially financially, the conversation is "healthcare for ALL". During a WORLDWIDE pandemic that effects EVERYONE, out comes the finger wagging at black people specifically. Like I mentioned in another thread, this country is filled with dusty, opioid addicted, Mama June look alikes, who kiss their dogs in the mouth cacs, and yet black people get the condemnation? Our "lifestyle" gets picked apart? Yeah, ok.

It's worthwhile listening to what Van Jones said here, he said it a lot better:

The reality is that minorities need help from every angle, but ultimately black people need to help black people more. The fried food/chicken/seafood shop doesn't need to be there. If you have the money to create those types of restaurants, then build a salad bar instead, a juice bar, a more healthier food store - but we won't because we know that's not black people's 1st choice of food.

If you love grandma's soul food on Sunday's, change the narrative and make soup together for the whole family. Don't commercialise the whole "cookout" thing which is based on grilling meat.

Even on this site when you say you eating x type of food that's not black you get tagged with a "c00n" or "boogie" food, etc...

That's just food, we forgetting about the drink and the smoking side, but that's another story. I love food but I have so many different choices of food to not only go out and buy but cook. Get a vegan cook book and give it to your aunty and mum and let them get the blood pressure and heart disease down...

Edit* I changed my original post, wasn't constructive

Van Jones aint much different than the surgeon general...

Got damn that shyt is like an epidemic of it's own. Makes Obama marrying Michelle even more impressive. I've never dated a white woman in my life and never plan to...I don't understand how dudes get wealthy and want to share that shyt with a white woman :scust:

There’s a video of a white boy jogging around his upper class neighborhood finding nothing but alcohol in all the recycle

WTF are you talking about. I work in healthcare, majority of patients I see are white and they are not doing this. Their poor health is preventable by diet and exercise. But they continue to live terrible lifestyles. You must sit and watch Netflix and think that is how all white people act. SMDH.

I've already addressed this point numerous times. I never said the majority do this... but how many of your black patients do? Are you really trying to debate that white people are not more likely to participate in the activities I described than black people? Again, stop putting words in my mouth.
