Watched two episodes. Not bad. Might finish the season, might not. I will say that they should've scrapped the much older son that they had while they were in high school plot. That's doing too much story wise. The two girls & the kid out of wedlock is more than enough

That's the case with new black comedy period around here. It has to basically be prime Eddie Murphy with the wokeness of Malcolm X to not be called trash

People want to act like the family situation in this show doesn't exist in tons of black families, but it does. So why not make fun out of it? Reminds me of the backlash "The PJ's" got back in the day.
It's great to have The Cosby Shows and Black-Ish like depictions out there, but I got no problem with comedy based on the dysfunctional and check to check end of the spectrum either

The Connors family is full of broke white trash alcoholics, failures at life & relationships, and they've faced eviction like 40 times...and they been loved by white people for decades

I’m with you - the influx of corny sitcoms, slave movies, black trauma porn; our experiences are not always for entertainment. I’m over it. This is sooooo exhausting. Tired of these Tyler Perry-esque scenes on repeat. Godfrey needs his own show- that would be a saving grace right now but he makes the whites uneasy, doesn’t c00n it up and actually stands for something, so that’s not happening.

Why can’t we have more shows like Godfather of Harlem or regular sitcom series without all the agenda approaches? Even horror movies out now are “slavery” branded. It’s odee

There’s talent right here on the coli that could come up with better sketch tv or situation comedy/characters than what they try to force feed us.

regular superhero movies. - Black Lightning and @Luke Cage were all that we had in the past few years. Luke Cage was cancelled Way too prematurely.

Mike Epps can’t carry his own show. 55 years old and still running off That goofy act he’s been running with for 25 years. And Wanda stopped being funny after Curb your Enthusiasm - she’s dry as toast. That monotone routine delivery that she does is old. She stopped being believable when she ran with the gay lesbian married to a white woman act in her shows for her white audience - now I’m supposed to accept that she’s back to black sitcoms. Fugazi.

She's funny in Black-ish.

Show has funny moments. But those a distraction. The undertones and right in ya face “here’s what they think about you” is apparent. Even with how they make it blatant that it’s written or created by two women. All in first episode or two you see he has multiple children, one which he didn’t raise, one that’s with another woman whom happens to be an awfully careless mother. Kids grooming to be strippers, drug dealers, robbers. 13 saying damn at school like it’s nothing, which we did too but it’s different now as I’m not 13 anymore. Nothing cute about it. Dirty car, penny pinching, ehh idk it’s like I get it but the execution could be so much more thorough.

the one “legit” or “clean” black man happens to be a gay son. shyt yo what else lol Sheila c00ning. Just now seeing the boss was with a black woman but left her for a black woman, they still work under her this shyt wild.
