Does Elon think Twitter ie uncensored in China? Does he want to take them on?

Twitter is full of retards rooting on their whites supremacist in the name of free speech while he manipulates the Aldo to censor left leaning speech and push rough reign garbage. Iā€™m a be done with that shyt after this election. Hoping Kamala wins so I can troll then delete the app.

A Brazilian courtā€™s decision to ban X (formerly Twitter) seems to be benefiting its rivals, especially Bluesky.

The microblogging platform announced late Friday that it was seeing ā€œall-time-highs for activityā€ with 500,000 new users joining in the previous two days. Itā€™s also number one on the free iPhone app chart in Brazil today, ranking just ahead of Metaā€™s Threads at number two.

Noting the rankings, Bluesky CEO Jay Graber wrote, ā€œgood job Brazil, you made the right choice.ā€

That growth is particularly impressive for a platform that only fully opened to the public in February and winkingly acknowledged its small size (especially compared to rivals X and Threads) by describing itself as ā€œthe short king of social apps.ā€ The company says it had more than 6 million users as of May 2024.

Bluesky was first announced in 2019 as a Twitter-backed initiative to build an open, decentralized social protocol. It has since become an independent public benefit corporation, with Twitter founder Jack Dorsey leaving the board earlier this year.

Elon Muskā€™s X, meanwhile, has been engaged in an escalating legal fight with Brazilā€™s Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes over the companyā€™s refusal to block certain accounts as part of a broader crackdown on what Moraes said is election disinformation.

X said earlier this month that it would shut down operations in Brazil, with Moraes then warning the company that it would be banned if it did not name a legal representative in the country. He followed through on Friday, and also threatened fines against users who try to circumvent the ban by using a VPN.

As the ban approached, Brazilā€™s President Luiz InĆ”cio Lula da Silva seemingly bid farewell to his X followers by linking to his other social media accounts ā€” starting with Bluesky.

So can we start embedding from BlueSky or Threads or something?

all the site owner has to do is update the media plugin but they've been MIA since the last site upgrade. the media plugin has seen dozens of updates since the last site upgrade that we've been missing out on.

I created a userscript to get bluesky and threads embed support. it doesn't support bsky "did" urls tho.

the longer musk defies the court, the more likely other brazillian politicians join bluesky, then the government agencies PSA accounts will be created, then the journalists and other media companies will join too.

All the "free speech" nonsense as it relates to Elon and Twitter is laughable when this guy has censored stuff on behalf of authoritarian governments. First he censored stuff on behalf of Erdogan/Turkey. Then he did the same thing with Modi/India. It's extra funny because the Turkish government asked twitter to censor stuff before and the previous owners refused while Elon complied.

He only seems to comply with requests from authoritarian and right wing governments.
