Nah, I've seen several posts in this thread about "the feminist agenda" and blaming that on this flop. This flop is a flop, and it has nothing to do with agenda. Which was my point. When women led flops flop, the agenda conversation always comes up. I didn't say everyone was saying that, but it's featured enough to be noticeable.

I think there’s two conversations going on in this thread. This movie looks lame and I don’t want to see it because it looks trite and I’m burnt out on these movies.

On the other hand to blame it’s failure on feminism and wokeness is incel red pill babble. The weird scapegoating and celebration of a movie’s failure when it features or is produced by marginalized people is notably different than when white men produce and star in trash. That’s what people are calling out.

It's just a talking point for people on the internet.

One side will blame men and say it failed because men are fragile and can't handle women staring in a super hero movie.

The other will say it's because Marvel keeps pushing a feminist agenda to a predominantly male audience and will blame Marvel and women.

In reality writing is normally the problem. Every movie has an agenda...also known as a theme...but a lot of modern movies are lazily written and instead of weaving that theme into the story, they probably announce it to the audience with a wink. Also because of laziness, the stories fail to tell a balanced story with balanced characters. A story about a man or woman's dating experience might completely villainize the other side, even though in reality both parties have plenty to complain about.

I believe that because women centered stories do very well in Japanese manga and anime...and some of the most popular characters are strong. Hollywood should take some time to study up on some of these shows. There's a great female led action manga called Claymore, a very popular show right now called Frieren, and several others.

In the last decade plus movies have relied heavily on word of mouth. When you look at these MCU movies that had a high opening weekend and fell off a cliff by week 2 it's because nikkas told their friends that shyt was wack or not worth the money

Considering that Oppenheimer did crazy numbers during the strike off word of mouth to a audience that in general doesn't know shyt about world war 2 or science.... it'll be a terrible excuse.

At some point they're just going to have to admit that pushing multiple bad movies with a difficult story arc to follow because of the TV shows was not going to work.

The problem is

Avengers story BEEN OVER.

Since Endgame.

They fukced up when they tried to keep running with it like it was a money tree that they could shake endlessly.

Not superhero movies in general, but kept pushing Avengers like they been doing Star Wars. With similar, shytty results.

After Endgame.. maybe flesh out the Spiderman series while they had the opportunity. Even go all the way in with Venom and these other Spider villains they tryna make movies for (the difference, include Spiderman).. but let the overall Avengers shyt rest.

Guardians 3 was legit. No Way Home was tight. In retrospect, every other series or flick was the middle of mid, at best.

Just like the Infinity Saga, their next move should have been starting from the beginning with a different group. X Men, for instance. I know the timing was tricky but they could have even froze EVERYTHING once they got the Fox properties and worked on the new series.

If they could have stopped Avengers and restarted with X Men. Even a couple years later that shyt would have killed the game AGAIN.

The Marvel fatigue shyt was on a downturn. The marvels or not.

There’s rumours they want the original cast back but I’m not sure they want another 5-10 year contracts. Theses movies ain’t easy on the actors.

Just like Star Wars, you have to space them out or people will get fatigue.

Constant movies every year, majority of the non-hardcore will tune out unfortunately


Even this movie, I want to watch but I’ll wait till it hits Disney+
