This is inaccurate and more surface level gaslighting that dismisses why those movies are loved in the first place
The strong female wave of the last decade failed because these women are written horribly. That's why they get backlash and don't resonate. They're written as hyper competent without having to prove it, which leaves an empty imitation of the hero's journey
In Kill Bill the Bride is established as hyper competent but she is put through obstacles. This bytch was shot, raped in a 4 year coma, buried alive, and killed the love of her life to get a daughter she thought died. Kill Bill resonated because of everything the character went through to achieve her goal. That's where these new movies fukk up. They give the women all the accolades and none of the challenge. But the challenge is what makes you
Sarah Connor was a regular cac bytch until she was forced into a position of fighting for something bigger than herself. Aliens may be the GOAT movie about motherhood because of the hell Ripley endured trying to protect that little girl
Look at the early MCU and the heroes that captivated everyone. Steve Rogers went out of his way to be of service and gave his life becoming a hero. Tony Stark was a selfish mega rich cac that had no reason to ever want to help anyone, but he spent a whole series of movies fighting against his self interests to help everyone. Look at every Tony appearance from Iron Man to Endgame. It's always Tony weighing his wants against the safety of everybody else. This is what heroes and hero tales are made of
Contrast that with the current wave of strong female movies where the characters are selfish, impulsive, and make no sacrifices. They're just awesome because they have powers and display no emotions. Again it's all surface masculine caricature shyt. This is why no one, men or women cares about these movies
Also Kill Bill is my favorite movie, and I remember when that shyt came out. If we're being honest Kill Bill is more loved now than it was in 2003
