Women will support a female character if they think the movie is done well. I'm pretty sure women made up a huge percentage of the box office for 'Wonder Woman' and that ended up making over $800M worldwide.

because in and out of comics, captain marvel is a nobody whos biggest claims to fame are putting rogue on and the rape baby/lover shyt. marvel has done nothing with the character outside of "strong woman" shyt. stark is a bytch ass character, but marvel put forth the effort to clean him up and make him a charming character that you want to see win and overcome his adversity when he loses. i havent seen anything with her outside the what if, but does she even interact with the other heroes?

The MCU formula in its current state has run its' course. They need to look at the the success of the rated R Joker & Batman films and focus more on their mature properties. Daredevil & Punisher films would sell tickets. There's also no reason they shouldn't be capitalizing off of Miles Morales popularity right now, either. And where the hell is the Blade movie they teased damn near a half decade ago? They're treading water and the formula is stale. They better start taking risks.

Mcu is going back to pre phrase 3 box office numbers. Before phrase 3 most marvel movies use to open to 40-70 mill at the box office. Only Iron Man and big team up movies use to open to 100+ million. Even the quality of the movies is going back to pre phrase 3. Before phrase 3, the mcu use to be hit or miss when it came to the quality of their films.
