But since you know me so well Lamar Givens you must've forgotten I used to have to volunteer for a non-profit methodist charity called "Feed My Sheep" every summer and major holiday until the last two years recently before I deconverted. Also, I was a minister of music I'm a classically trained keyboardist and use to play for the poor before I stop being a Methodist. I still associate with many of my former church members though.

You can deflect off the point made and defend an obvious charlatan though. I won't stop you. The black church is dead and the white ones are on they last leg you are a perfect example of that regardless which denomination you fall under. What people dont realize is this man popularity is global and all he offered is prayers to the city of Houston. This man is Houston and you got Les Alexander, Mattress Mac, and random artist pledging goods and money to the city of Houston. Him not opening his doors is a grain of salt compared to him not offering any monetary donation to Houston relief, or calling the several business that will give him anything based on association. This man has a direct line to global leaders so opening up his doors is menial compared to what his influence can do to help Houston. But if your a member of his church and cant pick up the phone and ask the church for help then I question why your there.

His wife is a total **** , a few years ago she was sued by a black flight attendant for hurling slurs at her and accused of threatening her. Of course the black lady lost and I'm sure she moved out of Houston due to their reputation. With the good ole boys network here in Houston I knew she stood no chance of winning that case.

Then if your religion isn't a tool that can be utilized to fix humanity and better their follower's lives stop advertising and parading it as such. If it doesn't offer any salvation stop saying it does.The very definition of salvation is to deliver from hurt or harm. And the points made by the people in the op still stand regardless if you try to dismiss them as atheist who should pay mega preachers worth millions more money just so they can do the bare minimum in times of crisis. And not deflect to dismissive ideological dogma. Or say mega preachers don't have enough funds from non-members to help when news outlets just today showed everyday common folks saving people in the floods with ordinary items and salvaging what they can to help. And to be honest, nobody expects the modern church to do anything so I don't understand the persecution complex. The American Christian church especially the black church is rarely called out for alot of it's wrong doing. The black church been dead. And the whites are on their last leg in the states.

A building isn't "salvation" - and you shouldn't expect "salvation" in this life, as you don't know what's gonna happen tomorrow.
