yeah its good to here that youre doing well out there. ive heard a few horror stories but then again most of those poeple just up and moved with no planning.
i think the south is a great move for us all. our history and legacy is there: hbcus, better weather, fertile land, and its so many of us down there.

I`m from Atlanta. Im not for up and moving with no job, as GA has the highest unemployment rate, but if you are in STEM/Healthcare/Airline industry it wont be hard to find a gig, granted you have experience. In the future I`m thinking of buying Farm Land outside of Atlanta since GA is literally a huge fertile farm outside of Atlanta city limits. Something that can create jobs, but thats still just an idea.

Yeah, its very obvious who don't know what they are talking about.

I can't blame them. I thought the same stuff before I started reading and researching about Africa and its nations.
it wouldnt even feel right to go back empty handed and knowing i didnt continue my peoples legacy.
but most of these people are selfish and shortsighted.
part of me gets mad but the other side feels, if you not helping youre hindering.
if you not going to better youre people both Africans and AfroAmericans then move youre ass to europe/canada.

Lol.. i think we need to start asking posters to give us a "detailed" plan. I'm growing tired of this high level talk. Tell us what you have done so far in Africa. It's a big move/life changing decision to move to another state much less a whole other continent.

Somebody make me a believer.. Lol

I`m Liberian, so the idea of Non "indigenous" Blacks setting up shop anywhere in Africa doesn't sit well with me. West Africans are welcoming of Black Americans to invest in the nations as they should, but the whole "Creating a new nation" isn't a good idea. I think a Dual Citizenship type program would be cool in places like Liberia, Ghana, Ivory Cost, Sierra Leone, etc. Allow anyone who is black to be able to start businesses in the land as it will employ natives. I know in Liberia you can't buy land unless you are a citizen/black I believe so what foreigners are doing is marrying natives just to use them to be able to buy up land. Robert Johnson former BET owner was like Blacks should invest in Liberia like Jews do Israel. Like you literally have a nation that has an abundance of Diamonds,Rubber, Iron, newly found Oil, among other stuff yet nobody is trying to invest, and now the Chinese are setting up shop.

I live down the road from the West End neighborhood, essentially Atlantas Harlem, TONS of Black Business, the issue though with Atlanta in general is you have a ton of black businesses but they are all corner stores, wing places, sports bars/restaurants. While these are all needed, they aren't the type of places that can employ people, so you end up shutting down in a yr because the people of the community are too poor to support and the blacks with money are to c00nish to come to your business because "too many blacks go there". Like in Atlanta you literally got c00ns who will say they don't go to a business/part of town because its too many blacks. My boy/old roommate just started a trucking company, and me personally I`m not trying to be a "manager" of anything, I`m more so the type to invest money/create strategy and have someone else do the management/hands on stuff. We as blacks need to focus on doing stuff that can put others to work, because the whole starting a business where you're the only employee and then to top it off you don't even live in the community or support other businesses there makes you no better than the Asians, Middle Eastern, Jewish, etc who serve as cancers in Black neighborhoods sucking out all the resources and putting nothing back in but poisonous consumer goods.

My pops bought like 10 acres of land there that he's turning into farm land and residential housing, I know he had to go back to talk business with some people from Morehouse School of Med because they are trying to do business with the local hospital or something like that. I`ll ask him how it is for non Liberians who want to invest. But land is dirt cheap by american standards. You can buy lots of land in Monrovia for 1k lol. Liberia and the other coastal nations literally look like the DR, Jamaica, etc so I don't understand why we aren't trying to make these places Economic Paradise.

Abuja and Lagos are cities in Nigeria that Americans love to live in.

I really don't think Africans have an issue with Black Americans living there as many Black American greats are buried there ( I think WEB Dubois lived and was buried in Accra Ghana). I don't see dusty Blacks being welcomed with open arms, but then again those types don't even have Africa on their radar so that wouldn't be an issue.

we have to change that culture of making it equals nonblack. :aicmon:
im glad youre laying the foundation and being the change you want to see.
we need more forward thinkers, job creators, and investors.
we ned moe black finance specialist, people to teech about money.
we need to hold the black elite accountable too.
all that new black/ elitist shyt is counterproductive.

I think its more so the idea that Western expats will not bring any significant change to Africa. That will come from the working class of Africans, just like it will in Black America.
